NASA knew this footage was very historic so they made provisions for it to be captured. This video was taken by a remote camera controlled by an Engineer on earth. The astronaut well spotted it, he carefully makes his way back towards the 'capsule', the thing is in front of him, moves the same direction, then u-turns in the opposite direction from our left to our right.
It appears as half underground at first.

@kragseven It was a remote camera placed by the astronauts when the first landed. It is being operated by ground control by an uplink through the LM. This is Apollo 16 , not 11. The remote camera was used to help document the mission and film the ascent of the LM upper stage.

1. As it says, this is Apollo 16, the fifth successful landing. Armstrong was on the first.
2. What makes you think the lander there has only just landed?

@kragseven Apollo 11 Before Armstrong descended the "porch" he deployed a panel on the side of the LEM it had a video camera on it. NASA knew this footage was very historic so they made provisions for it to be captured. This video was taken by a remote camera controlled by an Engineer on earth. You should go and rent "From the Earth to the Moon" series it really is very good.

it's all about lighting. NASA actually has a lot of articles all over the web about why you sometimes see stars, and sometimes don't.

How about "wind" on the Moon then?, since the flag floated, in movement..... and one of the astronauts appeared in translucence, like a hologram.... yes I agree more and more with others, it's more likely that this mission was never on the Moon.

the flag wasn't floating, you idiot. that flag had poles inserted into it so that it would be out straight so it would look more patriotic. It's funny how over the decades, common knowledge gets thrown away as people slowly forget. I remember learning in grade school about the rodes on the edge of the flag so it would look more realistic. Did you even go to school ?

The astronaut well spotted it, he carefully makes his way back towards the 'capsule', the thing is in front of him, moves the same direction, then u-turns in the opposite direction from our left to our right.
It appears as half underground at first.
The Nasa staff well know about it but obviously pass it under silence!
That's why the astronaut was told to "WATCH OUT!" at the beginning of the fiming.

Then again , I do agree with some comments above, all this was probably a BIG hoax anyway, it was all very likely to be in-studio or on the Arizona desert!
Since quite a few elements strongly indicate that this mission was never on the Moon. Floating flag and all.

Look from 4:08, it's definitely there, if it's a shadow, I wonder of what. It looks like it's blurred via too much zooming from the original footage, it moves then, from our right to our left, way past the astronaut, right at the edge of the far-away line, just before it.
