I want a chameleon so bad! I find them fascinating. I feel that I don't have enough reptile knowledge or experience as a reptile owner to have one though. I've heard that they get stressed out very easily.

@xosmitten not really its hard yo try to get them to go onto your hand from the cage cuz they run away but one you get them out they are pretty fine. the best way to get them ive found is to put one hand in front of them and touch their tail and they will crawl onto the hand in front of them. (:

There's one thing that always happens when people have their first female veiled chameleon: when she's ready to lay her eggs (they will lay eggs even when not fertile, like chickens) she will refuse to lay them unless the conditions are right. If she doesn't lay them, the eggs continue to grow inside her and eventually crush the lungs. If you're unfamiliar with this, I suggest googling it for symptoms and what you need to do

@4everteamalice you have to turn their light on and off everyday, and feed them crickets. they do hiss at you a lot. i remember my other chameleon would always hiss at me when i put my hand near him. but he never bit me.

@yankee6480 yeah, you don't want to hold him the first week, that will stress him out. let him get to know his cage for about a week or 2. then, if you want, you can start holding him. i don't really recommend holding them when they are baby's though.
