I go to Rajawongse Tailors every time I am in Bangkok. Their suits are the genuine article and are comparable to the quality I have seen on Saville Row. They are the best tailors in Bankok.
These guys are awesome! I got fitted when I was in Bangkok and I've had them send me various fabrics over the past year for several orders. Best quality shirts I've ever worn.
I find it hard to believe that the materials are imported from Europe and pure wool, given the high duties on such goods imposed by Thailand. The material alone for one suit would cost around 500 dollars in Thailand. So how can they make a suit that sells for $300?
@zoomtokyo thats to test the composition. black smoke indicates a synthetic fiber is in the fabric but sometimes people buy super 100 wool and sell it as super 200 and to the untrained eye they dont seem to look or feel all that different, which shouldn't matter if all you're looking for is the look but coarse fibers wrinkle more easily which is something that you wont see happening in the shop during a fitting. i had a swatch tested at a lab back home and they said it was ok.
if you ever go to thailand go to a store called 'brioni' they make amazing suits that fit perfectly and they dont cheat you. they are one of the best tailors in bangkok.
