  • What a 5 card trick they would make WOOOOOOOW.

  • Ermmm...

  • wow !! the Nolans..awesome !!

  • Lovely girls and very well sung

  • Sing my song.

  • Gorgeous! The pitches and harmonies are flawless, that's what produces the pure, silken sound of the Nolans.

(Morecambe and Wise or The Two Ronnies? I seem to remember Ronnie Barker saying in his inimitable way "Ladies and Gentlemen, the Nolan Sisters").

  • Sweet natural beautiful girls, where did they all go to?

  • i remember them singing this on this show.....a great version

  • Never heard this version before (though I'm sure I would have watched the M&W Christmas show in '76 being of "that age"). White Plains version was - and always will be - one of my all time favourite songs, but this version is also very good. Glad I had the chance to see and hear it.

  • nice version by the girls.

  • Mesmerising!

  • you know what? These guys di a great version of white plains. My admiration knows no bounds. Lovely Irish girls :)

  • I've looked for this video for ages. I had fond memories of it, but how time distorts my memory. Not great is it?

  • this is the best version i`ve ever heard,,,THE NOLAN SISTERS WERE ,ARE,AND ALWAYS WILL BE THE BEST AND SEXIEST GIRL GROUP EVER.....

  • morcambe and wise xmas 1976

  • i remember this version on the tele, they had a guest slot on someones show at the time

  • what red blooded male wouldnt like too jump into the middle of them like a fox among chickens!!! lol

  • The original Nolans, all beautiful ladies, especially Linda a lovely young lady then and now a sexy gorgeous woman.

  • Sorry, you just cant beat the original, by white plains.

  • this is off a album i had when i was a kid has anybody got any idea what it was called? and is it still about because the other records was good and ive never heard them since bladesteve2007 thanks for sharing it with us :) :)

  • A haunting and beautiful song, the melody has always been in my mind since I first heard it back in 1971 or so.

  • its so lovely makes me cry

  • They are not for me as a rule but this is a lovely song.

  • wow what beauties! wish i was pretty like them, ann is particularly striking in this video :)

  • I think the fact that this song has been interpreted in two such diverse ways shows how good the song is and that variety truly is the spice of life. There's room for us all people.............

  • This is nice but it's shame the actual melody is just treated as a harmony rather than mixed up as in the White Plains version. Just a mix issue though...

  • anyone know where i can get this on mp3?

  • @hirsty1979 try using a converter, in google type in 'video2mp3' and it should let you convert it

  • White Plains or The Nolans, who cares, it's a beautiful song with wonderful lyrics.

  • Well said jpgrbeatle!!

  • I knew the original from the White Plains, sure is beautiful, this has quite another sound, still as beautiful, I love them both the same to be honest

so 10 points for the Nolans, and 10 for the White Plains :D

  • Mediocre song?!?!?!?...Don't be a TWAT!!!

  • Like it or not, people are entitled to their opinions. Whether others agree or not is neither here or there :)

  • you are quite right,- we are all entitled to our opinions!, but I'm afraid that I am particularly anti "armchair critics"!!....so, if you are Paul McCartney I apologise,..but if, as I suspect, you have never written a song in your entire life,..yes, have your opinion , but do you really have the right call some-one else's efforts mediocre?!?! ....For myself, I always loved White Plains version of this song.

  • And I have no intention of getting into an argument with some stranger sitting at a keyboard either. What is music to one persons ears is indeed mediocre to others. I do, in fact have a life long musical background including performance and composition but not in the "pop" world Good day :)

  • Ok, whatever!....I think what really got me incensed enough to post a comment in the first place was that the contributor prior to your first comment was the composer of this song's daughter...and you follow up immediately with an insensitive comment about the song being mediocre!!....so I still think you are a twat,..and that is MY opinion. Good Day.

  • Well I'm sure I won't lose any sleep over what you think of me my friend :)

  • You are so right. Unfortunately, YouTube is full of people who "don't know music, but they know what they like" dismissing the work of talented songwriters as: "crap", "shite" etc.

  • Think they made a mediocre song sound tuneful!

  • They didn't completely ruin it, it's not bad at all. I prefer White Plains version though. Pax to all from Ian Smith.Xxx.
