I own almost all of these on DVD I'm so close but I fear I have missed a couple such as Cinderella when they came out the vault I guess online shopping is the answer to that though
@breakdanceup The 38th animated film is Fantasia 2000. The green girl is actually a "Mother Nature" sort of character; her animation is unbelievably beautiful, and is certainly worth a watch.
so my plan is to watch every single one on this list, and then make a list of my top 10 favorites. I mean, I've already seen the majority of these, but that was years ago, and my opinions on them might have changed.
#41 Atlantis: The Lost Empire (2001) #42 Lilo & Stitch (2002) #43 Treasure Planet (2002) #44 Brother Bear (2003) #45 Home on the Range (2004) #46 Chicken Little (2005) #47 Meet the Robinsons (2007) #48 Bolt (2008) #49 The Princess and the Frog (2009) #50 Tangled (2010) Music: Dreams - Brandi Carlile
#21 Robin Hood (1973) #22 The Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh (1977) #23 The Rescuers (1977) #24 The Fox and the Hound (1981) #25 The Black Cauldron (1985) #26 The Great Mouse Detective (1986) #27 Oliver & Company (1988) #28 The Little Mermaid (1989) #29 The Rescuers Down Under (1990) #30 Beauty and the Beast (1991)
Can somebody all the names?Cuz if you can please say them to me!!!Cuse Disney do the best movies ever<3<3<3!!!So please please please!!!If you can all names i would love you!!!
I love many of Disney movies but I ESPECIALLY love Beauty and The Beast, Aladdin, The Lion King, The Hunchback of Notre Dame, Pocahontas, Hercules and Tangled :)
like most people, i have no idea what the future holds for disney animation. but how would these examples of classic literature fit for possible animated adaptations (traditional or CGI):
Tangled is seriously by far my favorite disney movie of all time. And you don't know how big of a statement that is, because even before tangled i was a frikin hardcore disney fan.
I can't help but tear up with joy at this. You've come so far...oh I'm too proud! And now you're reached your 50th with Tangled...may many more wonder feature films come from you.
It would have been more enjoyable on the Blu-Ray and DVD if EVERY film was remastered in High-Def. Saludos Amigos - Ichabod and Mr.Toad, The Sword in the Stone, The Aristocats- The Rescuers Down Under, well you get the point. But i general, this is freakin' awesome.
This video makes me tear up. Scar, you have your immortality (though I think that references the Broadway show, not the movie). Nonetheless, this is a stellar, superb, fantastic (an adjective befitting Walt Disney) video.
@SpiderPrawn More immortality than is realized. I was at a Powwow & was considering that in the future artificial intelligence tech will be used to give fictional characters self awareness so we will get to meet them in Heaven which exists because we build it in the future & Time-Space circles due to General Relativity.. At that exact moment some Native Americans near me started chanting, "Mickey Mouse & Goofy are spirits too." !

@iLuvvYuuMjxXxLia Disney has an official animated "canon". While the DTV sequels are indeed Disney movies they aren't part of the canon, thats reserved for the theatrical movies done by Disney's studio (which is why theres no Pixar there either).
@iLuvvYuuMjxXxLia because those movies were a disgrace to Walt Disney's wonderful name. Besides the lion king sequels and little mermaid.. but cinderella 2... TERRIBLE!
@iLuvvYuuMjxXxLia Those movies are Disney, of course, only they were not produced as one of the classic animated films. They were not as quality as the original.

@deathmarkcomicsinc no it would not count true it is a good film but it mary poppins pete dragan and roger rabbit where not made by Disney animation studios!
The list is completely accurate - these films are the ones made by Disney Feature Animation Studios, the in-house team that Walt initially created. Goofy Movie and others were made by subsidiary studios (like ToonDisney) and, like Pixar films, are not considered Disney 'canon'. The Wild is not. Dinosaur seems to be but there is a question mark over it.
I like this clip - even if a few films get a bit shortchanged. Seriously, that tiny shot of the Sprite is all we get of F2K?
These are the 50 official animated FEATURE (not landmark) films made by Disney studios, the Wild, and others were made by Disney affiliates. the Rescuers 2 and Fantasia 2000 are on there because Disney studios made them directly.
I dunno... I kind of liked the selection they chose for this count down. They didn't include the sequels that to a lot of people didn't stand up to the originals, all the direct-to-video. They did include sequels that really built memories, however. Like The Rescuers.
These movies in the list were the ones that started it all.. perhaps the true essence of the studio was captured in these films the most. What Disney is known for and loved for. This was a stroll down memory lane for me. :>
This makes me want to check out the majority of the Disney canon. Maybe even checking out the "Dork Age" films with my own opinion. Rescurers, Fox and the Hound, Black Cauldron, Dinosaur (bland writing I've heard), Atlantis (Doug Walker gave a positive review), Brother Bear (some good things). My brother doesn't like all of them though...
#28 (The Little Mermaid)-#37 (Tarzan) is the Second Golden Age of Disney Animation, from 1989 to 1999. 9 films in 10 years...I wonder when a new Golden Age will kick in. Some said it would start with Enchanted, The Princess and the Frog, or Tangled, but none of the future lineup looks that great. King of the Elves, especially.
I had to watch this on my Tangled DVD several times, because I just KNEW they were missing stuff. No, I didn't count Pixar movies because I could tell that they were counting Disney-independent films. Still, they left out quite a few sequels....and the Goofy Movie....along with some others. Oh well. I love Disney with a burning passion anyway. =]
