  • nice work mate! wats your current draw?

  • it can handle around 20 A-the draw depends on the electrolyte concentration and spacing of the cell plates.

an electric scooter motor control would handle more current and do the same

    ;]

  • so are u just pulsing 12V dc??

can u produce enough HHO to run a car at 30A??

  • to run a car ?no

to supplement a petrol or diesel ?yes.

yeah just letting the drill PWM do the pulsing-from memory it was a 14.4volt battery pack

  • u know meyer was pulsing through a choke/coil which increased voltage and frequency. kinda like my joule thief works.

u should try some coil configs then dump it into the cells.

    then they will resonate

  • i tried a toriod early in the piece, but it was too much like a short circuit.

i should try winding something else.

also have an old electric scooter with a much bigger PWM,im gonna rip it out and try it soon

  • Thanks for the great info!!!!!!!

    Great work!!!!!

  • When you say the wrong way round do you mean neg to poss. on the motor side of the trigger? also what power supply would you use wouls an old comp power supply do? or just use the battery charger. Thanks again

    Nick

  • Are you using straight tap water, or adding an electrolyte? Great work!

  • yes that was tap water,no electrolyte added.

i dont use tap water now though-it gets too dirty.

  • hi there after a long time due to living up here near lake eildon in vic. I have managed to find a 14v cordless drill with a duff batt. can you tell me how to connect it to the hydro cell Im not to brite on this so if you can help with what to do I would be so gratefull. also what pot do I replace the trigger with. thanks Nick

  • dont change the pot-what comes with the trigger is ok.

when you pull the drill down-you see where the motor connects by 2 wires to the circuit.

put the cell where the motor was.

    like this,

    battery

    | |

    trigger

    | | cell

    fell free to PM me.

  • Can I ask you some thing is it possible in some way to use the trigger as a car battery acid based to recondition the plate and remove the sulphur build up. I know this is a of topic thing but I thought I would ask as I have respect for your work. And thankyou for your help it worked on the car great with the trigger. and wow did it.

    Nick

  • i answered this but it didnt post....so here goes again-interesting thought.

if the battery is completly flat then hook up the trigger output to the battery terminals.make sure its reversed to how you would normally charge it.

ideally remove the acid and put distilled water into the cells.

if the oulses push the sulphates off the plates then the water will become dirty, once the plates look clean-put the acid back in and charge it normally.

    should work.

  • make sure the battery is flat before you hook up the trigger the wrong way around.

if there is even a small amount of charge-good chance the trigger will be destroyed.

thats why i suggest removing the acid and using distilled water to clean the plates.

i have heard of this method being done with normal battery chargers.

let me know how you go!

  • Man this worked like a dream start it low on the trigger then bring it up. Then watch the water change its amazing. Then I drained the muck out of it and boy there was a lot. Charged up normal and batt works now real well. Thanks even the garage charger reconditioner couldnt do it. Man this rocks.Nick

  • nice 1 -thanx for getting back to me on that.

  • Ive done 4 more car batts since last post including a big 4x4 truck batt, It took 24hrs you have to keep chaging the water but it brought them all back to life and saved hundredsof bucks really thank u for your help.

    Nick

  • can you make a video showing the process?

and did the batteries come back to full power?

  • I thought the whole idea behind the pwm was to pulse high voltage dc until failure. I would like to see what happens if you take a car coil n put 12v in n pulse the voltage coming out. it would be really easy to do!

    I double dog dare you!

  • "double dog dare you "lol-thanx for the comment-

yes you are right-high voltage pulses with minimal amps and the correct freq.

the drill trigger is limited to 3.5 kHz,so freq is a problem.

have already tried the igntion coil-the output from the ignition coil wasnt too exciting, and the gas output was minimal.

even without the HV the use of pulsing DC at low voltages reduces heat in the cell, and brings the amps down.

  • thanks for thinking out of the box, this really helped me to understand the principle sincerely mike

  • Your cell looks like a spiral torsion spring. I suggest to link w/ bluebeaverbeer & combine your efforts. Sincerely.

  • Too fast: re-work the video, and show and explain SLOWLY:

-what to connect and how, and where

-Also explain: what have you ripped off from the drill, and HOW, which you did NOT show in this video.

-Also: list any OTHER names of cordless drills that may be used for this.

With all this done: you WILL make the difference than.

  • if you watch the previous vid that this is a response to, you will see that its the trigger mechanism and circuitry built into one neat package-granted i didnt show hooking it up-i made this video to prove to some doubters that it was in fact a Pulse width modulator.

i got a few other things going on so i will get to showing the simplicity of hooking it up later.

there are only 2 wires coming out-that used to go to the motor-the cell is hooked straight to that.

    thanks for your comment.

  • how many volts is(was)the drill and how many are you using in the video?

  • its a 14.4 volt drill,and i was using the drills battery

  • Ha haa! There it is! Triac! So I think you and crob227 do have that triac IN trigger. I don't...But no mater :D

  • my latest trigger has it hanging out on its own heat sink

  • Same think I have too. If you look my first Hydrogen Spark video.

  • yes i saw it-good work

  • i had a bit of read of that document, sounds like they only opperate up to about the 5khz range.

meyers and others say the "sweet" spot is around about 20 khz...

    Any thoughts??

good to see some ausie builders on here too... haha

    Darren.

  • maybe use a choke that utilises teslas idea of quarter waves to full wave tuning.the trigger being the quarter and the choke being the full wave.i have heard that 42.8kHz is the sweet spot.i dont know what to think-maybe there is more than one sweet spot;]

  • how do you know what kHz your running at? what do i need?

  • i dont have any idea-im only goin on what the report on PWM battery drill triggers describe

-need a oscilloscope to work it out.

  • Thats what she said!

  • who said?

    feel like dr suess

    they said u said

     we said

    who said?>lol

  • LOL

  • i have two dewalt triggers, but i dont see any circuitry with them

  • how big is it ?and does it make a squealy tone when its on low?

  • yes sir it works great the best idea i have seen in a while thanks. i posted a new video

with this trigger and a spark instead of plates. it has incredible amounts of hho coming off the spark, already have doubter though saying its not hho.

  • =] there always doubters mate

  • Really nice , if you do a volumetric test can you see the diffrence betwen the cell with the pwn and without it? Do you use any electrolyte in the water?

  • no electrolyte.just tap water.i will do volumes when i get some heavy cables and install the cell properly in the bottle.

at the moment the wires get hot cos they are only very light

  • Great idea. There is always a cheaper and simpler way to do these experiments using something built for another application.

    Keep up the good work...

  • What stupid said it wasn't a PWM? Anyway now you should mount it and use a screw and nut comination to very the trigger, and put a heat sink on that FET maybe with a fan to keep it cool. You will need a scope to see the square wave kinda the only way to see them. Then you can design a transformer to your liking too see if you can tap into free energy. Have fun and above all be safe.

  • i just noticed a sweet spot where the FET barely gets warm.i was gonna try a 200 turn bifilar(number 22SWG wire)on an inch of ferrite core, from an AM radio.wot do you think?

  • Make it out of 16 gauge wire, that's what Meyer used to start off with, and if you can make it out of two wire as one or Bifilar is a better name for it. 22 gauge wire will just get hot and melt. If you know a place that sells used alternator wire use the full length of that for your chokes. The magnetic field has to be strong and suden to get the best large back emf spikes. I will give it a true try when the new WFC is built for the chokes are a matched set too the Water Fuel Capacitor(WFC)
