  • some great inforamtion here thanks

  • Being from Canada, I don't get the context of it all sometimes but they need to be doing more of those skits on a global context, just pure genius.

  • You're sound very clever Brian.... No, you think you sound clever, you don't sound clever to me, I sound clever to me...

  • Excellent and how true, !% what is the govt whinging about ?

  • this could actually be their best one ever... its pure gold.

  • too bad the only people who watch this are already enlightened and reasonabe enough people to know the message before watching.

  • @FesteringFiesta Yep. Agree 100%.

Unfortunately, they're just preaching to the converted. The people who need to hear this are watching Masterchef and The Block...

  • For people who think they know anything about illegal immigrants and refugees please first read the following government fact sheet on the situation before commenting ignorantly. (type the w's in first when you copy it) .aph.gov.au/library/pubs/bn/sp/AsylumFacts.pdf

  • @DiscoBort

    Vote for DiscoBort please

.aph.gov.au/library/pubs/bn/sp/AsylumFacts.pdf is a very goood link

  • Bit of an edge to this one. You can just see through that humour to a bit of anger there. "Provide a boat", what a novel idea!

  • I'd be more inclined to do what Ali G did.

Only let the fit ones in. I'll judge. Free of charge.

  • (The character limit cut me off)

To add to this Australia already has a piss poor government which can't develop infrastructure to save its life. The buses are already packed, the housing prices are through the roof and regional areas lack the basic amenities to support 1% of the refugee population. (Unless you want them dumped in Sydney).

This is the whole reason Rudd's Big Australia was rejected. We aren't full by choice we're full by Government incompetence.

  • @hurrdurrmurrgurr These people are requesting asylum because they face a situation that they are unable to continue to live through in their home country, be it war, famine or something else. Given that asylum seekers make up an incredibly insignificant amount of the people coming to live in Australia, there is no reason other than racism or ignorance that suggests we should not grant their requests for asylum and treat them humanely, instead of trying to ship them off to Malaysia or Nauru.

  • @kelzo19 There are several reasons which I have already mentioned. If you wish to speak of fascist belief systems then I must ask where you would bring these people. We can't dump people on the street so a home must be provided. For the people who already live near those homes, they have no choice. To assign everyone a home would be costly but to place asylum seekers together would displace the local small towns and suburbs. Would it matter if the community you are displacing is aboriginal?

  • @hurrdurrmurrgurr What are you on about? You'd said you'd rather ship these people back to wherever they came from, simply because you, incorrectly, think Australia is "full by government incompetence," regardless of the threats they face back home. There are programs in place to help these people once they arrive in Australia, and once again you're showing your racism by suggesting that people shouldn't have to live near these new immigrants, like they're undesirable or something.

  • @kelzo19 You seem to believe there are only two places on Earth, warzone and Australia. To get here they have to cross dozens of secure countries just to arrive in Indonesia for the boat. How about you say why they are a better fit in Australia than in any country with a culture like theirs or one of our oceanic neighbours. Afterwards you can tell me why political unrest should be a free ticket to a first world nation on the other side of the planet.

  • @kelzo19 @kelzo19 I believe it should be up to the people who will live near the new arrivals to vote on whether they want asylum seekers to live near them. You believe they have no right and must accept because you said so. Which one of us is being fascist here?

Oh and before you try to silence my dissenting opinion by yelling racist over and over, I'd just like you to know it hurts my feelings and I'd like you to stop. :(

  • @hurrdurrmurrgurr I'd say the one that is being fascist here is the one who is suggesting that asylum seekers coming to this country do not have the right to live where they wish, but must instead wait on the assent of those already living here to grant them "permission" to live near them. No one has the right to exclude people from their community based on where they come from, as people have the right to live where they wish, rather than be subject to some sort of archaic segregation system.

  • @hurrdurrmurrgurr I agree, but just wish to add that both side are as bad as each other. They are all responsible for this mess. If we wish to turn thing around, we must get rid of them all. Now think about it, round them up, throw them in a boat and ship them all to Malaysia or Nauru, is a very good idea.

  • Going to have to disagree with this one. The whole concept of jumping the queue is because there are restrictions to entry so we only get skilled immigrants who can work. Refugees come from third world nations with no qualifications required whatsoever. When you import a group who may not be skilled and may not even speak English don't be surprised if they can't find work and end up in Centrelink or end up hated by the locals and have kids who grow up in gangs.

  • @hurrdurrmurrgurr Refugees are not immigrants, they are people whose lives and/or well being are in significant danger and are thus compelled to flee their homes. There is no queue jumping. There is nothing illegal about arriving in a country and requesting refugee status.

  • @kcaj123456 neck is WHITE thanks...bye then dickhead

  • is this fake?

  • @cviking4 yes. it is called political satire.

  • THIS IS GREAT!

  • Holy shit. I do not think they have ever been this forward before!! It was great.

    Well done guys.

  • holy shit... how dumb are these arseholes in canberra?

  • Half hour show? Sitcom.

  • @CaptainLazerus Govt? Pig Farmer? Govt. is NOTHING like a Pig farmer Pig Farmer is not elected by the Pigs The Pigs do not have a say Pigs can’t unionise Pigs do not work and have external factors affecting them, they just eat and die. There’s more to life than just being harvested. I'm sure there's more, but, what you're saying is not valid. This sounds like Right Wing chatter. Next you will tell me that Taxes cause Job Loss, and cutting Taxes will create more jobs or something just as insane.
  • @supersabre220182 Do you think the people of Afghanistan, Iraq, Sudan, or the Congo 'elect' their government?! Perhaps the analogy of a pig farmer isn't the best but I believe the point he was trying to convey was we have nothing to lose from taking a sustainable amount of refugees in. In fact we have something to gain from it, not dissimilar to the expectation we place in new born children to grow up and contribute to society. Why can't we look at refugees in a similar fashion?

  • @indoril007 Well, Yes, I agree with you, Refugees should be looked at potential working class people who will contribute to society, no issue what so ever. Agree in full heart. But you still need to answer my question. Are you willing to chip in, as a community, apart from yourself personally, to help refugees. Just as I have NO issue paying taxes to help the unemployed, to help people with medical issues, etc. Would you be willing to pay that little bit more to support the refugees. I am. You?

  • @indoril007 so how is that our fault or problem hippy?

  • @indoril007 copy and paste LOL...so I'm not entitled to an opinion eh? Thanks for the channel view. xx

  • Hold Up, your saying that Getting a boat and bringing refugees is a viable solution? lolwot? So, when a government fails, /shrug, Australia will ship a boat out here to pick up where we utterly failed? You want to encourage Govt. to fail? Govt. represent the people, there shouldn't be a "Get out of Gaol Free Card" for them, they need to look after their citizens. This concept blows my mind.

  • @supersabre220182 Gov't looks after its citizens in exactly the same manner as a pig farmer looks after his hogs. If the hogs are unhappy, what does the farmer care as long as he can harvest from the herd (i.e. taxes)?

The only problem with a better farmer stealing hogs from a worse farmer (from the hogs' point of view) is that the hogs are still being farmed. Still, if the decision is to be farmed by a better or worse farmer and not whether to be farmed at all - the better farmer is better.

  • @supersabre220182 You think taking in refugees encourages Government to fail? As if sending their people overseas and depopulating a country is an incentive? In an ideal world they should look after there citizens but often governments do anything but that and are in fact highly criminal in nature and in some cases a government barely exists. What blows my mind is instead of lending a helping hand you are more interested in holding innocents accountable for the failures of criminals.

  • @indoril007 That is not what I said, pretty much any part of your comment.

If you want to BAW about the actual refugees, fine, I can side with you. There is a but,

If you are willing to Send Ships and bring them to Australia, support them whilst they are here, and support them after. Then the money has to come from somewhere. I'm with you 100% if you agree to raise taxes on all of us. If you want the Tax Payer to pay, fine, 100% OK, I too am willing to chip in and pay for this.

  • @supersabre220182 I'm no economist but to my knowledge there has never been Tax increases due to growing population. The Government invests a lot of money into children before they start paying taxes and giving back to society. Why do we immediately suppose refugees will be such a financial burden? Are they incapable of working and paying taxes? Sure there will be costs involved but will they not be offset to some extent by the taxes paid by the refugees?

  • @indoril007 I'm not a Financial Guru as well, but I'm fairly sure Paying for the boat, processing and the education / support post immigration cost money. Plus all the random, subsequent costs that occur. So, your answer is, not to chip in? That, the money just apparate from, some, misc. unknown mysterious source. This, is where I part with you in agreement.

  • @supersabre220182 I would be happy to be chip in. My point was that the costs to us as taxpayers would be minimal. We don't have to raise taxes to support the educational and medical expenses of newborn children. We invest in their future knowing that they will eventually pay taxes and essentially pay a return on the investment. I understand costs involved with refugees would be higher but the number of refugees taken in each year is so minimal I can't imagine the tax costs being that high.

  • @indoril007 Alas, until someone with enough brains comes in, we are at an impass.

  • we're a huge empty country with hardly any people living in it, bring in more refugees!

  • "You think, they've worked this out at Harvard? How to do that?"

  • Classic

  • Gold! Pure gold.
