There is good music that can be found throughout every generation , sounds that are never lost, that never get old Songs that stand out to each one own personal tastes. I think I just chunked
i was introduced to this band back in the 80s had been tripping on album cover acid up in elk lake in mich rowed around in a boat with a buddy for 5 days fishing an tripping our asses off a major storm came in an we were in the middle of the lake laughing at the lightning . finally it became apparent that we were going to die lol . we rolled up on a beach an found our selves in some weird religious sect . we ran for shelter someone was playing this album. acid v fems good lol ping pong good.
why is all the good music in the 80"s and 90's????!?!?!?!? There's so many shitty bands now that all they care about is making money.. instead of awesome music that will be remembered 4 ever.......
I HATE people who shoot stuff like this WITHOUT A TRIPOD. Go ahead, fool, shoot more good stuff without a tripod and look at how lousy it looks. You dummy. Please grow up.
don't just give violent femmes full credit though, they borrowed a whole verse and a lot on top of that from the original version of "I Just Want to Make Love to You".
Admittedly they put it into a new context which is itself an art, but that is a part of it, don't know where I'm going with this...
blattz thank you for that pointless rant we all know that everything younger people say is meaningless and automaticly wrong. you call my generation mindless just because someone has an oppinion your going to snap out i personally like this version more but a kid can have an oppinion so shut your fucking mouth your 160 charector message was completely pointless go kill yourself
For a rock band to have a xylophone in it, make it work and sound good...that's talent. Try that with a modern band, won't see it. This song rocks. Same goes for a metal band with a piano in it. That's talent.
To everyone who says this isn't as good as Gnarls Barkley, this is a low quality, live, new video. It is nowhere near as impressive as the original. Listen to the original version first before you judge.
lol i dont give a shit about respect personaly i think the one who makes the song sound its best is the best... which in this case is barkley.. better music and better voice
I AGREE with you 100%. i know that GB re did this song but there is no way that this version is better then the GB one..dnt care what anybody else says
gnarls barkley put this song back on the map regardless of how talented the band is. at least for the younger generation. good start, but it was massively improved as a song by Danger Mouse, who made it pop-rock.
back on the map!!! i wasn't aware a band like this needed your stupid map, keep gnarls the remixer, and danger mouse does better on his own. fucking clueless moms-pills stealing kids who wanna say their modern bands are better than the people who wrote the song originally...pompous morons go back to your cellphones, tiny worlds for tiny minds, i expect nothing out of you worthless mewling swine, i just hope we get the robots up intime to take over the world instead of you tasteless idiots.
A bit (or rather, very) harsh put, but the original achievement of composing the song really amounts to a lot more than just re-playing it (and it still sounds better). Anyway, the Femmes album-version is even faster.
This is one (of many) of the most amazing VF songs out there and I'm a huge fan but their performance here seems a little flat.
Gone Daddy Gone needs a whole lot of energy to it and while I disagree with those folks dissing this video, I can see why you wouldn't appreciate the VFs for the truely gifted musicians they are from this vid, it ain't their best performance.
Having said that, it's still worth it's weight cos you can learn so much from these guys and love every minute of it.

One of the best song ever. And I like this clip. It shows how real it is. This is called talent. Not some Lady Gaga crap.

What kind of idiot judges a SONG by an amateur video of a single live version??
Some of you kids are idiots...

The original is a classic. The Gnarks Barkley version is terrible and highly monotonous.
