GP is pretty awful. As soon as I finished University I was out of there. It's cold, a cultural wasteland, not close to the mountains (a 400 km round trip is not close), and there is so much dirt flying in the wind you have to take a shower after walking. Which I guess is fine, because no one there has ever walked anywhere ever.

look i live here and i dont care what people say but im a snowmobiler/dirtbiker and there is mountains not that far away and we go sand dunes and a dirtbiking track.. yeah there isnt much to do but its fun if you like being outdoors and not just sight seeing like quading and hunting

I was born and raised in Grande Prairie and its nothing special, I am so glad i moved, if you want to see somewhere nice in Canada go to Vancouver Island, mountains are a five minute walk away from almost anywhere the ocean all around and its so green and lush here, and tons of sight seeing

I know we don't have as many jobs in Ontario, but we do have a lot of shitty big box stores. None of these western boomtowns have any character. I guess that's what you get when you're "modern."

I worked at bob's other place restaraunt years ago I think he owned 2 . I also cooked at the park hotel. the chef had a buxom blonde daughter I wish I could see her again mmmm. Ken chumney owned it. Okay, for the people who have never been to GP: (why the F are you watching anything about this place?) Ya, it sucks. Awesome scenery once you get out of town. However, true locals will tell you that in recent years their small town atmosphere has been penetrated by money hungry Easterners. As well as Pacific coasters. People from BC, not like for tables...*rolls eyes* Nice place to visit, and honestly would be better to live in if most people would GO HOME.
