  • songds amazing.

i am wondering if the neck of this guitar is more chunky than hd28.

  • @MrKYYLEE Not sure - but it does have the chunky V - very comfortable even if you arent used to V shapes

  • @alane011 lol, i just got back from a music store. i tried both HD28 and HD28v. I felt more likely use to the normal HD28. i guess my super small hands use to HD28 more. thanks any way~~ :P

  • @MrKYYLEE - whatever is most comfortable - I have a feeling the newer HD

28Vs have bigger necks than mine

  • I also have a Custom 15, but mine is a 1994. We took it to a local Guitar store because my son was looking for a guitar and wanted to see how the HD-28V compared in sound to the Custom 15 that it basically replaced. There was no comparison. The new HD-28V sounded weak and doinky in comparison. I don't know if Martin spent more time voicing these C-15's or if age has been kind to the guitar, but the C-15 sounds amazing next to the newer model. My son left disappointed.

  • @brywd - thanks for the comment - i have 6 other acoustics I have acquired since "95 ( bought and sold a bunch others) - yet i wont let this one go. I have a feeling it is a combo of age and maybe they used better woods/voiced - i remember selecting mine from a huge room of guitars at a small boutique dealer in Guilford CT - it was louder and warmer than all the rest - thanks

  • Is this guitar better than the Maton EBG808TE for fingerstyle?

  • @subisci - hi - probably not - this style tends to more for flatpicking although many do do fingertsyle on it. Not sure about the Maton
