God bless you

  • just beautiful...

  • they have made the very best christian music i have ever heard!!! they were so complete together!! god bless em ann herring her sis and her bro matthew ward!!

  • loved this song back in the day...had a group and we used to perform this one in church..

those were very anointed days for sure

  • I went to one of their concerts in FL and it was fantastic!

  • I was at Jesus 76 and heard this in Orlando Fl. Best summer ever!

  • Beethoven approves!

  • This song was written in Heaven and delivered by angels. It is holy.

  • Sabbath is over in 30 minutes, and I, a Jewish believer in HIM, am listeing to this great hymn. I was just a new believer when this song came out . Hallelujah!

  • Hard to believe it has been over 20 years since Annie, Nellie and Matthew have toured together. First saw them in late 70's with Barry McGuire. Remarkable harmonies, wonderful personalities and a dedicated faith, what more could you ask for. Thanks for uploading this.

  • Wasn't there extreme racism around that time?

  • @HendyZero2 Why bring this up? It has nothing to do with anything.

  • These guys are incredible. - beyond belief

  • Can anyone upload the 2nd Chapter of acts song 'Going Home". It is their best song - EVER and it is on their 'Footprints' album. Regards

  • i have always loved 2nd Chapter of Acts. Thank you for these.

  • this song has stayed in my heart for 36 years from the moment i first heard it. i think i wore out my vinyl album from then. thank you for posting. this was one of the first groups beginning the current genre of Christian music.

  • How come the audio stops at around 2:44?

  • While reading articles in The Elijah List today I saw the words: "Easter Song." Thinking it was a song from one of John Petersen's cantatas, I clicked the YouTube link. I've been singing this song (the few words that I do know) for y-e-a-r-s in my private devotion but never knew the name of it, though I knew it was ministered by 2nd Chapter of Acts. Thank you and the great folks at The Elijah List for reviving the spirit of this timeless classic!! You both have really brightened my day!

  • Wow, thanks for this video. I love 2nd Chapter of Acts.

  • Such an awesome trio, so underrated/underappreciated. I love a rare song they sing;"Some say I'm a dreamer"?....... Does anybody know the name of that song?? Thank you.

  • @RudyGrace1: It's "Spin Your Light" from the Singer Sower album. There's a live cut of it here on YouTube...I was just watching it.

  • @RudyGrace1 Thesong is Spin Your Light and it is included in these songs I've entered.

  • As Great as Acts was let's not forget "The Band Called David".

  • My first experiance hearing this beautiful song was a week after I was saved and just before Easter, I cried and cried, feeling my whole heart just opening to Jesus Christ, I fell to my knees in thanksgiving for His Finished Work on the cross..

I will never forget the love and awesome Love Jesus has brought into my heart..

Open your heart to Jesus Christ, He's right there calling you... Amen.

  • i love this song...please don't stop...keep on singing

  • 99,999 visitor

  • Great

  • hi...i was born in 1982 but i grew up listening to 2nd chapter of acts with my family...they taught me so much about Christian worship and about harmony. i'm now a worship leader and feel like so much of what i do is because i was so inspired by them in my formative years. so thanks for posting this and for being a part of my life and my walk with the Lord. :-)

  • Did he smash a watermelon on stage at the end of the show?

  • Matthew in his Jesus hippie days

  • Wow! I've never seen the group... I didn't know that Crosby (Crosby, Stills and Nash) was a part of the band.

  • @pdchr I was born again 1974 and am shocked to read that Crosby was a part of the group. Are you sure?

Others here are saying that barry McGuire was also a member.

I'm blown away because, I was a fan of both in college while still an atheist.

Wow. isn't this going to be an exciting class reunion around the Throne for all of us obstinate Flower Children who were baptized into the Kingdom in those days?

So glad that my sisters and brothers from the '70's Jesus miracle are leaving comments.

    peace

  • @macpduff I was just joking. That's not Crosby.

  • Oh yeah. This one is among the greats.

  • The GREATEST Christian music group EVER!

  • Thank you for posting!! The LORD Jesus Christ IS risen from the dead and He is ALIVE today!!

Just was reading that in Matthew 28 this morning.

It was in 1976, 34 years ago this month that I was born-again like Jesus talks about in John chapter 3.

    watch?v=ANm1qNoBFAQ

    Praise the LORD!

  • @CathyFromPensacola

    Oh my Lord.

read these posts and see how many of us were Born Again during that time period.

Me and my husband,- Born Again 1974!

Let's all testify to the mighty working of God during those days, - in redeeming the most unlikely.

This is so exciting to hear from you all.

I feel like this is a class reunion :-).

  • LIVE....that was awesome!

  • I have heard this song performed by some of the best in the industry and yet NONE of them get it. They all try to soften this song. This song requires Sharp and Powerful voices. and Power punches at key moments. 2ND CHAPTER created it and Performed it Wonderfully. Why must everyone try to change it. I only wish there was a digital era version done in a state of the art studio sung by the 3 wonderful voices of the 2ND Chapter of Acts. !!! This is truly a Rock Hymn

  • @sgfx Exactly right about the music phrasing.

    The intro sounds like bells

The lyrics say 'hear the bells ringing'

The soloist's voice sounds like a bell.

That's why it must be 'sharp and powererful',....just like bells

  • My mum and dad used to play 2nd chapter of acts to me when I was little- matthew ward has the most wonderful voice! Beautiful servants of the lord!

  • where and when was this concert?

  • watch the girl's reaction at 2:04 ! it's always amazement at what Matthew does with that voice. I remember being at concerts (2nd chapter) and all my friends and I would sit there in wonder. LIke how is he doing that?

  • I just love it! Reminds me of my youth and me being encouraged by these songs to really love Jesus - and so I do. Still. I love Him!!!! Thank you 2nd Chapter - you greatly influenced me!

  • Thank you SO much for posting this!!! I LOVE it! My FAV Resurrection Day song! Praise Jesus!! :D

  • Remembering 35 years ago, still in high school, This song was being played on secular radio. I can recall swirling around my friends room, my arms up high to Jesus, as we danced. There was such joy that filled that place and us, I didn't think I could contain it....... I thought my heart would burst. How can you not rejoice? Jesus is Alive!!!!!!!

  • @wlknsoon Amen! I was saved in 1974-2nd Chapter was one of the first Christian bands I ever heard - first was Phil Keaggy. Are you aware there is a DVD of many of the early Jesus music pioneers out there done in 2003? You can buy it from CBD online and each person or group does a couple of songs & there are testimonies as well and also a CD of all the songs performed. Folks like Randy Stonehill, Barry McGuire, Love Song, Honeytree, etc.

  • @mmlbowl....Hi! I was saved as a young girl but didn't "walk" with the Jesus until highschool. I was baptized with the Holy Spirit Dec 1974, At a Saturday night youth meeting. Boy, did my life change the next year. I stop missing so much School, My lousy grades went to A-B honor roll. And my future began to reay take direction.

Thanks for the info on the DVD. I just got a CBD catalog in the mail today so I will check it out. Gosh I had forgotten about Love Song, and Nancy Honeytree.

  • @wlknsoon Blessings. many of us who were saved by God's Grace in the '70's are leaving messages.

I've wondered where you all have gone to.

Such a blessing to read your testimonies. I feel like it's a family reunion.

Only those who were saved and snatched away from the evil of those days understand our love and gratitude to Our Lord Jesus. PM me any time.

  • @mmlbowl My husband and I were also saved in 1974!!

Part of the same graduating class my friend:-)

this is what I've been trying to tell people.

there was a mighty awakening of God at that time.

The Flower Children were being transformed into Children of the Mighty God.

Do you still remember how grateful you were to be snatched from the jaws of evil by Jesus?

The Flower Children knew the real existance of evil,- and our helplessness- more so than most normal church goers then. Maranatha

  • @macpduff Yes, not only do I (we) still remember how grateful we were to be snatched from the jaws of evil-we still celebrate that fact! God dramatically transformed our lives and we have never been the same since! I am so blessed to still be on fire for God at the age of 58-mother of 4-grandmother to 5-and am getting even better at witnessing the miracle of what God did-and WILL DO- in people's lives if they will only let Him! Merry Christmas! Fan the flame and may you bear much fruit for HIM!

  • @mmlbowl God Bless you my sister. please visit my channel. I am experiencing chills as I listen to the great song of the time,

as I remember the unmatched miracle that swept through the lost Hippie children,

and as I read comments left. I've wondered long where my redeemed sisters and brothers have gone.

I feel like I'm at a family reunion.

Jesus said, - those who have been forgiven much, - love much.

We love much because we rebellious Flower Children were mercifully forgiven much.

  • Eternal music!

  • thank you Jesus

  • I saw them in Portland Maine around 1980. They were great. They were humble & you could tell they really sang for the Lord. Brings back memories.

  • Great video! This wasn't filmed at Creation Fest, was it?

  • Probably one of the most beautiful Christian songs written. Thanks!

  • Lee, thanks again so much for putting these songs out. I listen to this concert almost every morning while I am at my computer. In fact, I got kind of interested in Second Chapter again and bought Matthew's autobiography (a great read). He had some really fun stories in it (like Phil Keaggy falling asleep in a storage crate). I was wondering if you have a favorite story as well.

    Thanks again!

    Ken

  • @shilohrenovation

Sorry, I just now read this...there are a lot of stories, but I can confirm that Phil once fell asleep in a large suitcase during intermission at one of our concerts, (I played in Phils band for several years as well as with Acts) and we couldn't find him, so we ended the show doing a couple of songs as his backup band! I get together with him from time to time and we still laugh about that!

  • Used to shut my door in the dorm, put this on full blast and sing out. Fortunately more of 2nd chapter being heard than me. Barry McGuire, 2nd Chapter of Acts, and Larry Norman, their music introduced me to christian rock. We had a christian coffee house on El Camino Real called the Belly of the Whale. We listened to this while drinking coffee and chowing down donuts (before calories existed). Back when christian artists got paid by love offerrings, with usually not enough love. (:

  • 2nd Chapter is one of the first vinyls with christian music I head in the 1970's. Still own "In the volume of the book" and it's amazing to see and hear this music 30yrs. later. Also found that another christian rock band (The Way) republished their work few yrs ago - good music will never die *g* - thanks god!

  • @membykuna Friend;

    thanks for your share.

My husband and I were fans of Barry McGuire in College when he sang Eve of destruction. He has a manhole cover on his head on his album. When did Barry McGuire become a Christian?

When did he join the 2nd Chap of Acts?

7 yrs lafter we became Born Again 1974. This song was almost the anthem of the Jesus Movement revival.

The jesus rock was so fresh and former Hippies could listen and relate.

  • kanon

  • The BEST Jesus Rock song , EVER!!!!!! Hope to hear it like this, in Heaven, on day.

  • Wow, thank you so much, one of my favorite songs ever, Praise His Holy Name, He's Risen! What harmony, I love 2nd Chapter of Acts.

  • Thank you so much for this video! I can listen to this song the whole day! I think it's the best easter song ever! I'm going to send it to my sister, she also loves the song. So thank you
