My old band got to play with these guys on several occasions. Cordial, eccentric and immensely talented. Was very confused by their Major label deal falling through?! Yet how many Korn and Nickelback albums have we had to endure?? lol
dude one of my favorit bands like n genaral along side of nirvana and the smashing pumpkins i got all teh cs except one wish i could of seen them live great lyrics in all of the songs
I remember the first time seeing them live at Endfest....maybe 1997 when I was about 15 or 16 years old. My friend had to drive all the way out to Coventry w/ her mom to get me this album for my birthday present. Oh...man....the memories :)
the band did break up. mike is the guitar player for hurt now based in st. louis. frank(lead singer/guitar) lives in Harrisburg, PA and runs a studio. Sammy the first bassist lives here in youngstown still, and mark the drummer went out to st. louis and drummed for leo for a bit then stopped but i think he is still there. one of the greatest bands live to see was ivet. it's just too bad the world never got there music. they are better than most bands in the mainstream
great video and song. My band TiLT 360 used to play with ivet all the time back in the day, in fact frank the lead singer of the band and this song recorded and produced our album and we released in in 2009. Check out the song 'point blank' with a kelly pavlik boxing video here on youtube. just type in: tilt 360
What happened to Ivet? All I can find on them was that Sickhouse was really successful, they got major labek offers and started to work on a new album called 'Subsequesnt Losses'. Did they break up or something???
@georgeprodjex Yes, they broke up due to the standard "rockstar" mishaps before the third album (well, fourth kind of) album was ever released. I have no idea what any of them are doing now.
@savagepastry Well I'm a musician myself so the phrase 'rockstar mishaps' means like several different things to me. Sorry to ask but could you be a bit more specific please?
I read somewhere that the producer for their album 'Subsequent Losses' (the one after Sickhouse) never showed up and the band funded and recorded the album themselves then never released it and broke up. Is that true?
Actually, I may. My old band used to play with them all the time back in 99/2000 and we used to record most of our shows. I'd bet a lions share that we've got at least 2-3 tapes with IVET on them. I think they're in my old drummers' parent's attic or something, lol. Maybe we'll have a look next time I'm home.
