WOW the editing in this AMV was so in detail, it would have been hard to tell which parts were edited if I didn't already see the movie. Although Nostromo is my all time favorite, I can't help but think that this amv deserved its place.

I am angry but let me clear the air. The video is good, but Nostromo's was better 100 times over. The beatles won this for the creator. But let me clarify, this was a great AMV. I just dont agree with the decision which made it take 1st place.

that´s what I had thought too as I saw nostromo´s amv... but you know... after watching the anime nostromo used... his amv is pretty boring campared to the second and first placed... if you know their anime materials as well ^^

You could tell from Nostromos silly title mixing up his old amvs that he wasn't taking the competition as seriously as he was last year when he released Auriga there. Still though, since Qwaqa's Time has come out I've yet to see a better new AMV come out. Redona by Oroshi was close, but the storytelling punch Qwaqa packs is just amazing.

What are you talking about?!

You probably wouldn't know if you never seen the movie but there were ALOT of subtle effects in this amv which all contributed to its greatness. There was more than one scene that was completely aboriginal (i.e not in the anime and created through masking). Just for an example, the bubble that forms around the girl while she travels is the editors creation, not the movie's. Please fully experience amv before making an incorrect analysis.

i think someone who hasnt seen the anime is oftentimes the perfect judge for an amv, especially one like this that is so heavily intent on portraying a story, because they have no idea what the source is about so they don't have a preconceived set of emotions associated with the anime.

@gotegenks Ummm...ok lol I agree with your perspective to a certain extent, but that isn't what my comment was about in the least. I was replying to a comment that stated that the video was "nothing but raw edit" which it most definitely isn't. The effects added in this video wasn't superfluous like many seen today in amvs. It was perfect and subtle to fit the atmosphere of the amv, and add to it's recreation of a new story. Through it you can tell that the meticulous work of creator.
