  • obviously that guy never played it thuroughly, gameplays good, stories decent, and the scenery is amazing

  • gameplay sucks along with everything else

  • So question, how is the gameplay at the moment honostly? I keep hearing complaints about the interface, and I usually don't care to much about that, because that's usually one of the first things that get fixed. I'm talking about gameplay overall, how is this game? Should I start playing now, or should I go ahead and return to FFXI?

  • @UlricKessler stay -.-

  • gotta watch around goobbues, their uppercut is dangerous

  • poor little goobbue :'(

  • @soniquefan2003

Well, I came from Final Fantasy XI to be honest with you. Though I have given other MMO's a try in the past. I apologise if my opinion upsets you. I just really can't stand the user interface, controls, and overall gameplay.

There's no way it's giong to be ready by release and I'm sorry if I don't want to essentially pay to be a beta tester. When it gets better I'll give it another try. If it doesn't, I've always got XI to fall back on.

  • @SigmaSymmetry easy to not be excited when you see a pretty cutscene and then it transitions into empty streets and horrible gameplay.

  • @banditb17 those streets it transitioned to were instanced. you won't usually find a boatload of players in them now that everyone if past that point.

  • @tathakitten Of course. I know what an instance is. I have also been in the beta since March and have seen this time and time again. They could have at least added quite a few more NPCs to at least give you the illusion that it was a busy city. Maybe even more shops and stands and carts. Anything that justifies the already massive demand on your equipment.

  • @banditb17

If you were in the beta since March, you'd know that this is the first time you can be in Ul'dah.

    *rolls eyes*

  • @ShuraHaidate When did I ever indicate that Uldah or Gridania were available before Open Beta? LL was just as bad. Try again.

  • @banditb17

The way you worded your sentences, mainly the "have seen this time and time again" can be mistaken as you referencing seeing the cutscene multiple times.

I don't feel the game is "barren," NPC or not.

  • @banditb17 but it wasn't busy, most people were down at the parade when you were in the backstreets. and then after the fight, most people had run away because a goobbue had run rampant.

ofcourse if you wanted them to needlessly add more npcs to add even more load on your equipment, i'm sure you can suggest it to them.

  • @tathakitten then how about some NPCs moving around? They did that in ffxi. This game is not immersive. Sure, back in the days of 8bit you had to have a wild imagination to be able to imagine the world you were in, but in this day and age so much is laid out before you that you really feel involved in the world around you. FFXIV takes a step back, and you can see that in every aspect in this game BUT the character animation. Even the bright shiny worlds look pathetic and empty.

  • @banditb17 you need some cock in your life don't you. no one gives a shit about your negative opinions. People watch these videos because they are excited about the damn game launching. Not because they are jealous WoWhores

  • @JoeJoeboii umad

  • @banditb17 don't speak to me with your indian umahd jihad language motherfucker :)

  • @soniquefan2003 You do realize if most people stop playing or don't start playing in the first place, ffxiv will fail. You are pretty self destructive you naive fool.

  • @banditb17 i try not to debate logic w/ the Square-Enix "Defense Force" they tend to just respond irrationally and emotionally =/

  • Best one of the three in my opinion.

Too bad the game itself sucks...

  • @Stammer6 Couldn't have said it any better myself.

  • @Stammer6 shut the fuck up :)

  • @JoeJoeboii

hehe. I'm not stopping you from playing it. I just don't believe it's going to be by my standards "ready" upon release. I'd say it's got another 6~12 months to go, and I'm not paying anywhere between $15-$30 a month for that time period just to essentially continue beta testing the game.

You can play it, I won't stop you. ^^

  • @Stammer6 nothing really wrong with your comment but, are you going to play it or not? cause you said you wouldn't pay $15-$30 a month to play it, this game is $12.99 a month...........so sorry i don't understand what you are saying are you talking about another game?..............XD

  • @Mstill2000

Well, you got the $13/mo normal, plus $3/mo per character, plus $1/mo per retainer, plus microtransactions. Add all that up and then mark it up from USD to CDND (since I'm Canadian). If I want to play Disciple of War and Disciple of Magic, I need two characters, and each one's going to need a retainer since there's no central market system.

    So yeah. $15-$30 per month.

  • @Stammer6 yeah ............i guess, but i was just talking bear minimum there is absolutely no need in FFXI or FFXIV to get extra shit, you can if you want but it wont in any way give you an advantage, if you mean buying other digital goods any mmo can be like that

also do you want another character for your handler or just a retainer? cause a extra character is an extra $3/month but a retainer is just $1

  • Comment removed

  • @Stammer6 In addition to respecing you can also buy traits for your jobs to help you convert stats. It takes some time to get these but you can use your class marks to buy skills that for ex. convert +5 str into +5 int.

  • @Stammer6 really? that freakin sucks lol, sorry idk cause i havent really been following it that much i wanna go into it completely new not knowing anything, anyways ima still play it cause i bought a really expensive computer specifically for this game octo core cpu ^^ hopefully it will have enough power to play full specs lol

  • @Stammer6 No you dont. It is 12.99 dollars for one character and one retainer. You only need one character to play.

  • @Stammer6 Completly incorrect. You dont need more than one character for every disciple. You just change the weapon you are using. This game isnt WoW.

  • @kylesico912

    Oh yeah, and I'm sure a Conjurer with 100STR, 100DEX, 100VIT, 15MND, 15INT, and 15PIE is going to really succeed isn't he?

  • @Stammer6 The stats are ajustable. Look it up on they're wiki page.

  • @kylesico912

They can be reallocated you're right. But you can only adjust 11 points every hour. It would take you a day or two just to swap your stats from "melee" to "mage" or vice-versa. I suppose changing classes once every 2 days is still better than Warcrap. But I prefer the "at any time I'm in a town" of Final Fantasy XI, myself.

  • if it helps i'm really really really excited =D
