What a beautiful final. The atmosphere is just electric. What a goal by Allan Simonsen worth of a European Cup Final. Borussia were so dangerous after they equalized could have snatched a goal. The European Cup finals in Rome have been beautiful affairs. It is such class place.

i remember watching that final i was only 7 years old, i am a celtic fan and i thaught to myself at the time we have agood team but that is a superb team and the next thing you know special k is away to hamburg and our king kenny sings for liverpool and the success in europe was to be there for many a year for that great liverpool team at the time in the 70s and 80s ynwa

I think that was Kevin Keegan and Tommy Smith's final game for Liverpool. It was a great match between two marvellous teams. Alan Simonsen nearly won it for Gladbach. A wonderful evening of football.

@Hayato3740 Gladbach was awarded as the bestfootballteam in Europe 1975 when they won the UEFA Cup and the German Championship.so in 1977 they were even better than in 1975 and liverpool played clever but was lucky too.Gladbach was a even team to liverpool.thy deserved to win the Cup .but anyway history.no hard feelings anymore .ok.

Always good to see that again, I remember it well as a 12 year old, Liverpool fan, who would have thought years later I would live in Monchengladbach and follow "die 11 von Neiderhein", I love Liverpool and Gladbach and was thrilled to see a Gladbach flag at Anfield a few weeks ago (true friendship and respect).
