But if I open the presentation in Powerpoint non of the effects will work. And I often have presentate on the microsoft computer of school on the smart board.
@CathleenKeene It's "CPU" by various artists. I used YouTube's soundswap system to add the song, but there's a link to buy it on itunes below the video to the right of the description. (this comment is posted from my new channel)
I was wondering how you zoom in on the pictures during the presentations. I know there is that zoom thing but that goes to the next slide and doesn't spend much time zooming on that actual picture. How do you make it so it zooms in slowly on the pictures like on youtube videos when it zooms in on the pictures slowly. I dont know how to do that, do you know how? Thank you!!!
@reetruss Do you mean how it drops and then dust settles around it? If so, Steve Jobs has been known to use beta versions of Keynote while presenting, so that is what I and some other people believe is going on. I'm sure you could replicate it with a simple move in and then an internet animation, but it would never be the same. I hope it's in iWork '11 or whatever they call the next version!
@KaylaAnn128 You export it from Keynote by clicking file>Export. Make it a quicktime movie file (you can choose timing options as well). Then when it's finished exporting, go to youtube and click upload. Follow the normal upload procedure.
As an educator, I got to admit that there are parts of powerpoint that I love. I love its integration of clipart that really makes the presentation come to life for children. I wish keynote would incorporate the same.
Do you mean to import video into your presentation? If so, yes you can, and it is as easy as dragging and dropping the file into keynote. You can also export your presentation as a movie, if that is what you mean.
Recently, Microsoft has finally made office worth it's $300 price by making powerpoint have keynote-esque transitions. Another redmond photocopying maneuver, but whatever. You guys should check out some powerpoint2010 videos, and cringe at the similarities.
Considering that office2010 will resemble an older version of keynote, I think that iWork 2010 will be even better.
they are really nice effects. but video is not smooth as much as keynote real time playing. maybe because of low CPU speed at exporting video. even that it is really perfect. Powerpoint is just an idiot application. i can say if keynote is Photoshop, Powerpoint is Paint lol :)
keynote makes my presentations always look great. Ex. yesterday i had a boring presentation about nutrition so just add some effects and animation and what i got is pro show at my classroom. everyone in my class was like WOW. Thanks Macintosh.
This summer i got my first mac (macbook pro 15" - i'm 18 years old - i was a microsoft user before ) and got the mac version of the mircosoft office from my father because he allready worked with it ... but yesterday we bought iWork '09 and i really must say it is 1000000... times better. powerpoint is bullshit... keynote rulez
Check my keynote tutorials.

problem i cannot get the presenter notes to appear for me without the audience seeing them. HELP NOW!
cheleski68 1 year ago
@cheleski68 Ok. Change the display preferences by going Apple>System Preferences>Displays>Arrangement>Uncheck "Mirror Displays".
In Keynote, Keynote>Preferences>Presenter Display>Check the top box.
You may need to swap the displays in the bottom selections in Preferences>Slideshow.
Press Play.
Hope this helps.
