@vbz27 Its an intertube from a bike tire wrapped in green duct tape. It's to protect the spring from spintering and getting nicked up from falls, etc.
You get hurt a lot on them? They say they aren't that dangerous but looking at a few videos on here I see most folks go to the gym and use mats to learn and still end up breaking bones??!!!
Wow. I wish I could get my 90120s to bend like that. Hm...but honestly, it looks like you could use a slightly stiffer spring. I could use a less stiff pair.

I've fallen a lot, and I've scraped my hands once or twice, but I have never used mats or been seriously injured...
Major accidents usually occur because of a fluke, or stupidity...
