  • do i need homebrew channel or gecko OS to play games from my region which is PAL?

    Please reply ASAP

  • i do not get into the Config Menu help

  • @TheXhackerX

I would say it's just the speed your hitting the button. You need to first have the Wii in standby mode with no disks in the console, then boot the console to the main menu, once at the main menu press the eject button 3x really fast, even hit it 4x or 5x to make sure the system receives the eject presses quick enough.

  • is it safe to do manual updates? and the wii shop channel?

  • @AceNinja71

Yes you can, but if you update to the latest 4.2 firmware it will disable the chips all region support, to re-enable it you will have to install the basic form of the homebrew channel and then Gecko OS on an SD card.

  • Hi,

Can you tell me which modchip is better?

    Wasabi DX or Drivekey

or any other ? please suggest

And also u told me earlier that to run the Canada games on my AU console on version 4.2 i need gecko OS for the drivekey.

DO i need the gecko OS If I buy the Wasabi DX

    plzz reply

    thanks

  • Drivekey

  • hey, thanks for the guide!

Are wii firmware updates needed to play newer games? If so, what is the safest way to update?

  • Right now the best thing to do is to buy or rent the new super mario game, it has the 4.1 update on it, update the console and then after updated set the brickblocker to on to avoid any future updates, also avoid doing manual updates or the Wii shopping channel

  • aalso i'm looking at playing my games from a external hdd , is this chip fine for that or would you suggest an alternative?

  • If you want to play from an external hard drive, you would be better off looking at the new Wode

  • hi great video , just wondered do i need anything else other than the wasabi dx mod chip i.e downloaded software????

  • Depending where you get it from, you may want to update the chip to v2.0 beta firmware from the Wasabi site

  • i mean ribbon cable*

  • i got 2 questions and please awnser them.

    I don't have a stikcer is that a problem.

And i dont you need to set a red ribbon cable or dont know the name in the right side from the wasabi?

  • If you don't have a sticker you will need to insulate the chip with electrical tape. You must have bought it from somewhere else.

It should have come with a ribbon cable like we show in the video

  • can you still play Game Cube games?

  • Wasabi DX & DriveKey don't have the GC auido fix, so they are not to great with GC games.

  • tell me, I can update the original nintendo with the chip without the risk of "brick"?

  • Does this do the same as the DriveKey?

  • Yes, but DriveKey has an advanced brickblocker, the Wasabi DX has standard one.

  • can i unistall the mod chip?

  • Yes

  • does this chip come with a ribbon cable and the sticker?

  • Yes, from us it comes with the ribbon cable and the sticker, other places wont have the stickers.

  • some dont even havd the cable. well ty i think ill b buying from u. you also have triwing screwdrivers for lower than ive seen on other sites.

  • wow that's strange, because the Wasabi DX come with the ribbon cables, maybe they are doing the sell it cheaper but then charge for a ribbon cable trick. We had the stickers made as well, thought it a lot better than people using tape which is a little dodgy in our opinion.

  • when i installed this same drivekey it would say the same error when a cd is

scratched and the wii can't read it,i

    downgraded from 4 point 2 to 3 point 2

plus formmating the wii sys memmory(with the same 3 point 2 version)and the

modchip still wouldn't read Do you why this happened? my serial is LU63xxx and

    the chips are D1A and a D2E

  • check to make sure you set the dip switch on the chip correctly, also make sure you did not install the chip the wrong way around. If that fails contact the store you bought it from for support.

  • whats better the wasabi or the drivekey.

  • is duct tape the same as that electrical tape?

  • I think it's similar, you would have to ask the store if it's conductive or not. Tell them you plan to use it over a circuit board.

  • If i buy this will it really be worth it i mean will it muck up my PAL wii

  • The chips don't hurt the consoles, just make sure to enable the brickblocker

  • but are you sure this wont muck up my wii in the process of putting in my chip

  • Hi, I was wondering If wasabi dx would work with the wii update version v4.1e??? because I have that at the moment and I bought my wii in 2008 but would it still work with it???

  • Yes it will

  • very nice

  • Can the wasabiDX play back up game cube games as well as some other mod chips?

  • Wasabi DX has the same issue as the DriveKey, it has no GC Audio Fix, if you want to play GC games you would be better with a WiiKey 2 if your console can take one

  • how do you know if you have a pal console

  • check on the wiidrives website

  • You check on your wii box

In the bottom Corner it says wat region it is

  • i know this sounds very stupid but i dont have a clue lol what is the difference between the driver key and the wasabi DX?

  • The main difference between the DriveKey and Wasabi DX is that the DriveKey has an advanced brickblocker, which means if your console is NTSC, it will allow updates from NTSC games but will block the PAL ones. The Wasabi DX will just block all updates from PAL or NTSC games.

  • nice video

you can also use a gc controler to change options in the dx menu.

  • No problem. :)

  • very useful, thanks.
