@wolfspirit820 Thank you! Phantom is a book by Susan Kay that is a prequel to and an alteration of the original Phantom of the Opera by Gaston Leroux. It delves deeper into Erik's (the Phantom's) past, and retells the original story from Erik's POV. It's very good, I would recommend it, especially if you've read Leroux's original first. :)
@Eriksoneandonly Thank you, right after posting that, I looked it up, and got it at the library, I LOVED it to say the least! I was a little appherensive at first since I had heard of many who have read the many books related to Phantom of the Opera that have said that do not love the movie anymore, because the Phantom is too attractive or it didn't capture the essence of it but I am glad to say that I still love the movie and now I love Erik even more! :)
@wolfspirit820 I'm really glad you enjoyed it! It's one of my favorite books. Have you read the original novel? I think Kay's complements that so well. Anyway, I completely understand what you're talking about, since I am a little guilty of judging the movie myself now, but I'm very glad you still enjoy it and can enjoy them both.
@Eriksoneandonly Actually, I just finished the original novel (I know, shame on me for not reading it before every other book but again I worry that it make me hate the movie, books always do that) I can safely say that I loved it, not as much as Susan Kay's book (Mostly because it is missing a certain detail at the end ;D) but it is nothing like what most people say, I think the writing is brilliant, even if it is a little confused. Well, now all that’s left for me is to see the plays!
@wolfspirit820 I'm really glad you read it, because I always try to encourage people to at least attempt to like the source material. I think it's important to understanding and loving the characters. I also really enjoyed it. :D I hope you get to see the play soon!
;) Yes, of course. (Though I understand what Leroux was going for in his book, and it wasn't really a 'beauty and the beast' type...) but thank goodness for Susan Kay's book! XD
This...is what would have happened had Gaston Leroux been a sensible woman. It is what should have happened, despite Gaston Leroux not being a sensible woman. Brava.
He said in the begining of the book ( i think, can't remember.) That it was a real story, so it would'nt have cared if he was a sensible woman, he would certainly anyway write the original story..
I agree - this is what should have happened in this story:D I LOVE THAT CLIP, I REALLY DO! In my opinion it suits very well to my wision - what should have happened:D And the music is... och, just wonderful:D I adore Bach:D
Yes, but just if you wanna give him a name, it's smart--since the movie doesn't mention any other--to give him his accepted, canon name, straight out of the book, right?
*bows* Thank you! Thank you so much! It was a joy to make this simple video to show the love that was lost and now can be kept forever. You're welcome, and thank you for enjoying. :)
That worked together sooo beautifully, the song, the music, the clips, the emotions. That almost made me cry, it was sweet. I wished the movie was actually like that. Thank you for posting this. ^__^
Great video, great choice of music my friend! But tell me are most people around here that terrible when it comes to music that you had to so bluntly explain the concept of "instrumental"? I mean... we all are music lovers around here...counting the "topic" is POTO.
Heh, thank you very much! Well, you never know. This is the iInternet, anybody can wander in and watch my video, and then send me some comment about the music... I've seen it happen, and I'd rather not take the chance. I hope all PotO lovers are music lovers and aren't just in it for Gerard. Thanks for the comment! Glad you liked the video! :)
Beautiful cello music playing in the background. Just curious, which classical artist's music is this? It's very soothing, just listening to it. :) Great job on the slide show of the movie. :)
So that's pretty much the whole book, then? In 2:28 minutes... nice. :D I liked it! And isn't it cool when there aren't any lyrics to match with? hehe. Good job.
Awesome! I loved the music too!

Haha! I love everyone's comments! Has anyone read Phantom by Susan kay? There's a twist at the end. It's not Leroux, but it's written by a woman. ;)
There may be a little more satisfaction reading her take on behind the POTO scenes, but still stays with the story with a twist. Worth reading.
Love the vid!

eric not erik although often either for his name cuz it isn't exact on how you really spell his name in the movie cuz they never use it

No, it was Erik, with a K. In the book. The book that the movie was based on. :)
