  • @gabe25j1 YOU need to do your math....if your saying he can reach 12 high without jumping, watch the video again.

  • @SmooveDoctor i didnt say he didnt jump. do the reading lol

  • @SmooveDoctor According to him hes 6'8 + a 3 foot arm, how does that reach 12 foot? he said plus a 3 foot vertical jump.

  • @BlameSocietyBSP he's 6'11 moron.. just research your shit.

  • @DDI0N read what i said "According to him.." i was using the numbers given to me in order to correct what somebody else and dumbly written.

  • When did I say I could do that? By the way if I was a genetic freak like Dwight Howard I could. If I had 2 basketball player parents inspiring me I could. If basketball was my job and I had a personal trainer I could. If i had access to all the things Dwight howard does I could. But thats not the point I am mereley stating the facts. If you dont like it i dont care. The truth hurts.

  • This was not a 12 foot dunk. The rim of the alleged 12 foot rim measures halfway up the backboard of the 10 foot rim. The backboard on all NBA 10 foot rims measure 13ft. at the top. So that means Dwight Howard's dunk was 11ft 6in. NOT 12 FEET! Check at 0:13 if you want proof. Also take into account that Dwight Howard has a standing reach of 9ft. 4in.

  • @hoodghost

Dwight put a sticker at about 12'6" the year before this one...so it's pretty clear that he can dunk on a 12-foot rim.

  • @EGarrett01 THIS IS AN 11'6 DUNK!!! Dwight can dunk 12 feet but just barley. If he had done a 12 foot dunk instead of the 11'6 dunk it would have looked lame and not as cool. Also he probably would miss the dunk a couple times due to the higher degree of difficulty, and remember it is a timed event. So he did an 11'6 dunk to make it look better and lessen the chances of him missing the dunk. I DIDN'T SAY HE CANT DO IT I JUST SAID HE DIDN'T DO IT IN THIS DUNK!!!

  • @EGarrett01 Plus Dwight Howard has a standing reach of 9ft 4in. that means with his standing reach he would need a 40 inch vertical to dunk on the 12 foot rim. That is including the 8 inches he needs to get his hand above the rim. I read in a magazine from that exact year 2009 that Dwight's max vertical was 37.5 inches from an interview of him. Also when you said he put the sticker on 12'6 that year remember how he was holding the paper with 12'6 on it even before measuring it.

  • @hoodghost

Yeah, they didn't actually measure the sticker on the sticker dunk, but it was shockingly high. I fully believe 12'6" because of how close it was to the top of the backboard. If I had just seen the sticker without the footage I wouldn't have believed that he could do that.

Oh also, Dwight used a lob on the 12-foot dunk. That means he didn't need his whole hand above the rim. He just needed to get his hands/fingers high enough to touch and control the ball when he caught it.
