I don't know if you noticed, but the economy has been pretty bad for middle class with Bush's favourable tax cuts for big business. You can't continue to support the debt, the war, and tackle energy without increasing revenues.You are in a fantasy world if you think McCain is not going to raise taxes.

Mccain's taxes are nothing compared to what Obama wants to introduce.

And I am just repeating what Obama says in this video. He said people makiong less than $75,000 will get an income tax cut of UP TO 1000 dollars a year. Sounds great except that it would hardly make up for all the other taxes he wants to introduce.

What is the alternative fuel Obama and Al Gore are working on-look at how much oil Obama uses and he says no to oil? I want a response from Obama like McCain on his energy, "go for it now" I want Pickens type answer from Obama:timeline, percent of replacement of oil and cost to get it.

7 Dollar a gallon gas by 2010 is predicted and Obama says we should'nt drill offshore in the US.Nobody in history has spent more on green technology than Bush but we are going to the poor house and OBAMA has NO plan except TAX TAX TAX...Tax your employer so he can't afford to keep you on.Tax the large corporations so more jobs go overseas.

Obama preaches CHANGE, no more business as usual- His plan for the price of oil is NO DIFFERENT than any other past administration. Using less oil will not drive prices down. Requiring higher mileage cars to be built sounds great. Now you have to spend money for a new car and higher insurance rates and taxes to save money at the pump. In the end it will cost you more than running the your old car? This is a great plan? This guy is a phoney. He is getting money from oil company executives.

Obama's solution is to introduce new taxes, to spend on PRIVATE companies that research alternative energy. So instead of lowering the cost of oil by allowing drilling on US soil, he wants to make you pay MORE while oil prices continue to rise.

The OIL companies are private too genius, they are going to go where the money is too. Once they drill the Oil they can take it to the highest bidder.

Why would they sell the oil stateside, when they could sell it for triple or quadruple the price in India, CHina or Japan.

At least with the alternative energies, those have to be used in the states and will help reduce the demand for Oil.

What you don't realize is drilling will greatly increase world oil supply. Once the US drills, the supply will go way up, prices way down, and the middle east will have to start pumping a lot more in order to compete with the US. Another thing you don't realize is that the price which the bidding countries would offer would be the MARKET price. Otherwise it would be cheaper for them to buy it from the middle east. In other words, competition between US and middle east would drive prices down.

That's 3% ONLY IF you had drills drilling every single god damn drop of oil in the whole country. Do you know how much it will cost to get all of that Oil? It's very expensive. That's why it's so easy for companies to go to the middle east, they just poke a hole in the ground there

So realistically, the amount of oil that America would get will NOT effect world Prices that much like McCain wants you to think.

First of all, it's not too expensive for oil companies to drill in the US. They have the money, and I don't see how it's even more expensive to drill in the US. If anything, its more expensive to drill in the Middle East because of the extra taxes they have to pay the countries to set up their drilling there. And you are incorrect, US drilling will be enough to lower oil prices because they would be putting a lot of new oil on the market.

It's not about taxes my friend. It's about access to oil. The OIl is alot harder to get to in the US than it is in the middle east.

Just do some research and learn something. DO you enjoy being manipulated by McCain? or are you trying to find the best solution for America? Seriously.

And Oil companies have more than enough money to drill in America, that's not even an issue. Drilling is the only solution to gas prices right now. Taxing people in order to invest in alternative energy companies is just plain wrong, and it does nothing to help relieve the price of oil. Keeping eating up Obama's BS.

And he thinks that offering a tax cut to middle income people will somehow relieve the burden of oil prices... not only will middle income family taxes actually increase with all the OTHER social programs he wants to introduce, but this "green" tax will just fall on the shoulders of those evil rich people who make more than 70 thousand dollars. These taxes only slow down the economy, which will increase the burden of oil prices.
