Timing chain are just used nowadays for big engines, to handle with huge amounts of torque. But even today, almost every car brands uses timings belts.

Nowadays, the reasons of using timing belt is affordability and employment. there are still companies using timing chain at time. mercedes, bmw, nissan, opel, saab. Gm's. mopars. AND even in SMALL gasoline and diesel engines by Toyota. And you say I don't know shit about engines... pathetic.

Toyota land cruiser 4.0diesel has timing belt. Is it a small engine? No, The size or torque of the engine isn't the reason to use belt or chain.

@bjpakosta Thats about 4 month's ago when I asked that, then I weren't sure. But yes, it's petrol engine, so what? it's SMALL. Okay, Audi V6 TDi have timing belt, It's bigger, and those are Diesels. If that matters for you talking about the torque of the engine. I take the toyotas 1.0 petrol for example cause it is not a diesel. it has less torque and power than this peugeot 1.4 hdi.

fajnie idzie :) a ile pali Ci w trasie/średnio/ miasto ? Ja mam 407 kę hdi i czasami zastanawiam się czy w przyszłości nie zamienić ją na mniejszego lewka. W większości jeżdżę po mieście więc mniejszy samochód przydałby mi się chyba bardziej. Pozdrawiam
