i have pain actually on my shins, in just about the middle, like its not on the side where she said she had the pain its actually on the shin bone kinda :/ is it shin splint or is it something else?
@anasalex10 the grey is called pro wrap and the white is elastic medical tape. I suggest not using the pro wrap because sometimes the tape job will start coming off, which can also cause pain for the athletes. And it's not any tape, strictly medical/ sports tape. Ask a sports store not a pharmacy
this looks like its basically the same thing as a compression sleeves for ur shins, which i have. it does help a little bit, but, i still have a lot of pain. sometimes i think it works well, but compression wont 'solve' shin splints. but it does help a little :)
Whats the gray tape and the white tape medical names? I really need to do this. Been suffering a lot from shin splints. Please whoever knows reply asap.
@AnasAlex10 I am pretty sure that is called active tape. There are many different names, medical or not. Oh by the way I am talking bout the grey tape. It is used to help feel more comfort and so the real white tape does not get on your skin. Sorry that is the best I could do. Hope you find some better help with your shin splints!! good luck!!
@Coolio7942 Thanks a lot for the info. I went to the pharmacy and told them I have shin splints, give me a tape lol. The man had no idea. I'll go again and ask about the active tape. So the white tape can be any normal tape?

i've had shin splints (mtss) and compartment syndrome for 10 years, had surgery it went away i was running playing football with no pain but then it hit again......i've had injections, insoles, treatments and all kinds of physio based work....if you have shin problems its a long winded process
Damn, with ordinary rope jumping on the concrete l've never had problems. When l started doing DU-s and criss-cross and jumping higher bloody shin splints just keep coming back on and on.Concrete seems to be a killer surface.
Just taped mine like this; thanks for the tip. Feels good so far. I registered for a run, and I wanna get back on the streets dang it! Spinning til then...
yeah i started a running program alongside a resistant band strength training regiment and ended up with horrible shin splints but with massage and daily shin splint exercises and wet heat followed by ice has really helped also i walk backwards Slowly with slight incline on a treadmill it all has helped tremendously.
i know!! over doing it is how we get hurt in the first place LOL thats good =) same here, it hurst while im just sitting but not as bad when i walk or run.... strange LOL, hope you get better =)
I have been suffering from a serious case of shin splints. This was caused by me going back to hard core exercises shortly after recovering from shin splints. Now I am out of action, but improving with a help of my physio. Rope skipping would not be good if you have shin problems. Jumping, running, will be the worse thing to do for the aching shins. Your doc/physio wil be able to tell you what you can so you won't aggravate your shins.
my doctor told me the smallest amount of time is 3 weeks it could last up to a couple of months because i ignored it for about a month, im also taking anti inflammatory meds (aleve)
i kno!!!! my doctor said i could still run and play sports, but i have to wrap it everyday and ice it and not "over do it" so im hoping it wont take that long!!
Not over do it?!?!?! If we knew how to NOT over do it we wouldnt be in this mess now would we?!?!?! LOL
But mine just reall got to be a pain in the a@@ Sunday/ But for a few weeks I felt more comfortable running than walking. I feel as if I could be ok possibly by this weekend....I hope
does this actuallly work?

The grey tape is called pre wrap, and the other tape, is called sports tape.
Wrapping(taping) your leg does help. I have shin splints and taping them really helps!!
But don't forget to rest. Right now I have to take a break from track :(

i had a shin splint prob. It hinders my performance even in a simple yet safe exercise such as a rope skipping.
Recently, I even gotten a small patch of bruise somewhere around the area where the girl in the video had pointed.
This had never happened before. So my qn is is it recommendable to arch and shin taped on the same time?

If you have a bruise around the area of pain you may have a stress fracture!

i have the bruise too my doctor told me it was from ignoring the shin splint and running on it, not sure if its the same case as you tho.....
