  • i hope canada gets these soon cause im going to into being a fighter pilot

  • sweet see you up there!

  • this was shown in discovery channel and history channel. History: Morden Marvel

    Discovery: Future Weapon

  • this is produced at Norway,GB,USA,Turkey, and maybe france idk =/. but this really made by a american designer.

  • What is the radar range of the f-35.

  • why is it build in Turkey???

    lol

  • Poland will have a discount on those babys ^^ i hope our stupid politicians will buy them

  • This plane is very nice and impressice, but it is useless piece of impressive crap during a real battle. U can count this aircraft as a fast appache hellicopter!!! This fighter is slow, does not carry alot of missiles, and not fuel efficient at all!!! Russian Su-35 or earlier versions will shoot this shit down before this F-35 will get a lock on. And if this plane ever get in a dog fight will Russian made planes, it will have a hard time catching up to them because it is FUCKING slow!!!!!!

  • Yep, this is a collector goodies ,very expensive and beautiful but useless...

  • another example of someone who has no idea what theyre talking about.

Dude, this is real life, not BF2. The French made BF2 and had no clue what this aircraft was really capable of. When the Russians see these things on their radar, they purposely attempt to avoid engagement, because they are completety superior to anything the Russians have. Why not do some research before you comment, it could save your reputation

  • F35 wasn't designed for air superiority. It's a compromise between a light bomber and a fighter. Perhaps the Su-35 is better than the F35 but the F22 Raptor will shoot down any Russian Aircraft for the next 35 years. Goodnight.

  • That aircraft looks like a maintenance nightmare, cool but a nightmare nonetheless.

  • is very good aircraft with excellend systems and very low signal tracking has stealth characteristcs but is not pure stealth aircraft like the f117 and f22 raptor that is why has smaller price 1/3 of f22 raptor

only usa may have pure stealth f35

    have you good day.

  • Good aircraft for CHILE.

  • That pilot that was showed at about 7:00 is very lucky. hes a test pilot and have flown 13 of 19 of the F-35 JSF fighter. he has flown meny different planes countless time including the F-22 Raptor.

Also, i am happy to say that Canada is replacing the F-18 Hornet with this remarkable and beautiful plane in i think

    2020.

Also, i have never seen this plane with the gear retracted, after takeoff they never raise the gear and inflight the gear is alwars down. Is this because its is in testing?

  • didnt know it was called the lightning 2

  • The F-35 is said to eventually replace a total of 4 fighters: the F-16 and A-10 by the F-35A variant, the F-35B VSTOL = AV-8 Harrier Jump Jet, and the FA-18 A, B, and C variants by the F-35C Variant. The Navy is said to keep the Super Hornet, the F-35 complimenting the D model, and the F-15 is being replaced by the F-22. Its will be sad to see those old jets go, but at least their roles will be in good hands, or should I say 'wings'.

  • Su 47 is supposed to join large scale production next year.

  • really? Nice to see it finally being made after 10-12 on the shelf...

Handles well... but it will only be a conventional fighter now..

  • i hope to someday fly the F-35 or F-22

  • im with you on that dude.

  • does this aircraft have thrust vectoring?

  • yes,but I think it's only the F-35B,this version has verticall take off and landing

  • o wow, this must be a deadly aircraft then

  • Most aircraft are... ;)

  • not the canadian vers. as far as i know. canada might pickup ten vtol after wards.

  • This is the same jet featured in live free or die hard and that means its a VOTL fighter (verticle take off and landing) wich gives it the ability to land and take off anywhere and if it matches the stats of the F-22A's its a superior fighter. Plus its multi-role wich it may take place of F-15E's.

  • J-10 and SU-47 are better. F-22 best American jet.

  • hahaha J-10 better than F-35???

    only in bf2.

  • F-35 is better than a j-10. sorry chinese do one thing well and that's make copies of things. tell me what the j-10 looks like and that would be the original cpoy of the j-10

  • yeah its a complete rip from the eurofighter

  • Agreed.

  • didnt you know? In Chinese language copyright means the right to copy..hehe

  • "Armament:

1 x GAU-12/U 25 mm cannon — slated to be mounted internally with 180 rounds in the F-35A"

180 rounds? That's gotta be a typo. I don't know much about the GAU-12, but I'm sure the thing eats AT LEAST a thousand rounds per minute.

Better bring some rocks to throw, 'cause you won't be firing that gun very long.

  • WHY???? This plane is being sold worldwide to anyone and everyone??? TOP SECRET USA military is scared?' YES SCARED OF SOMETHING OR SOMEONE...WHY SHARE SO MANY SECRETS OF THE STATE OF ARTS SPACECRAFT¡¡ SORRY SPACEPLANE....? Whatever...prepare for a like 4th of july space invasion of creepy aliens..sori 4th of December

  • I'll have whatever you're having =|

  • Yep, they are scared. Scared that countries will buy into the advanced Mig's, Su-47, or even the J-10. Its a money grab, and a chance to get tech from other countries. Note the F-22 raptor is a better aircraft, but isn't being marketed internalionally. This is an export aircraft replacing the F-16 and F-18 as internaltional sales. Though honesstly, short legs, no internal gun, can't vetol with full warload, limited to 1.6 mach. To meny sacrafices to get stealth on it.

  • Yep. Jack of all trades and master of none.

I think that, in any future conflicts, the Raptor and even the old B-52 will end up contributing more to the over all war effort than the Lightning.

We may have over reached with the F-35. We probably should've just skipped this step in aircraft evolution and started research on the Imperial TIE Fighter.

  • problem is, raptor isn't for export sale. B-52 is pretty much american only. Carriers are likely to carry 2 f-35 squadrens, and 3 f-18 squadrins... with F-18's doing job of a6 and f-14... with the f-35's taking over the job of the f-18/a-7.

other versions will replace the AV-8B on marine jeep carriers, and f-16's for short range attack. B-1b will continue, B-52 will continue, likely the f-117 will be phazed out for the f-35 as well. F-15's will continue though.

  • TIE fighter? are you kidding? no hyperdrive capabilities, no sheilding, and only two underpowered ion cannons. not to mention theyre the baddies, and they look stupid. you'd be better off with X-Wings, or B-wings. :P

  • sorry but Su-47 is not advanced xD

  • the su-47 is only experimental, it's not meant to fight in combat

  • if this plane had thrust vectoring it'd own both sir and ground

  • The j10 is better

  • whoever said that the chineese shitfighter (J-10) is better than the F-35 is obviously some pro-communist chineese faggot that has obviously been pumped full of propaganda from their homeland all their life.

  • Actually in some aspects the J-10 IS better then the f-35. J-10 has speed, thrust to weight ratio, while the F-35 has stealth, its limited to 4 missiles to maintain stealth. J-10 can carry 10 missiles. Also most versions of the F-35 do not have an internal gun, and can not carry an external gun without sacraficing stealth. yes, the f-35 might get to shoot first, but with ECM, counter measures, ect, if it doesn't get to kill it can't run and has no gun for tight in turning fighting.

  • does anyone know if this thing is being tested in britain now? im pretty sure i watched it take-off from Prestwick airport the other night, unmistakable sound of a military jet but one that iv never heard before. any ideas??

  • yea we don't kill the inocent how many inocent people have the terrorists killed so far a lot

we don't kill inocent people at all

  • Joking I hope.

  • how many Mavericks can carry this plane? 12?

  • I think it has quite a large payload for the size of it.

  • In stealth mode, its limited to 4 missiles in its bay, generally 2 air to air, 2 air to ground. If it chooses to give up stealth, it can carry anouther 12 on pilons for a total of 14. has 2 pilons per wing. plus one centerline pilon for carrying a gun pod.

  • we swedish got a good plane and more andvanced than this crap :P Jaas Gripen

  • too bad your country never uses them.

  • the Dutch government decided to buy f-35 in stead of the gripen in replacing of the f16, and they didn't look at the price ... (what I heard) is that the gripen is not bad for it's price, but that the f-35 is better.

  • i can't belive that the us air force intends to replace the f16s , and the a10 thunderbolt 2 with this fighter

i agree it can replace the f16s in their role but gtheir is no way it can replace the a10 in a ground attack role

the a10 can absorb huge amounts of damage and still dish out heavy punishment to its enermys their is no way the f35 can do that besides the a10 is also cheaper to repair in the field than the f35

bottem line the f35 cannot replace the a10 at all

  • Only the brits can fly this to its full potential.

  • that thing's got some power, listen to the engines

  • YEAH YOUR RIGHT but 5th Generation is High Tech right?

  • you mean "were"?

  • usa has the best navy and pilots

  • Honestly, how the hell is this going to be able to replace the A-10?

F-16, and F-18 I can see, but an attacker role airplane? WHAT?

  • A-10 will be replaced by F-35B because it has a big body and STOVL capability it combines Harrier and A-10 but a little bit stealthy capability because of it's big engine...sorry for my english...

  • Pocholo300. I agree with rex3453. The A-10 is effectively a flying tank designed for low-level close air support. It's designed to survive a huge ammounts of damage (and be easily repaired in the field) and deliver enormous firepower with it's 30mm cannon and arsenal of bombs and anti-armour weapons. The F35 is not a viable replacement - it won't deliver the same fire power, won't have the same resistance to battle damage and will be much harder (and more expensive) to repair.

  • is the lighning better than the raptor

  • they have different roles, so that question is irrelevant.

  • i think they will be evenly matched

it depends on the skill of the pilot really

but im sure the f22 raptor will be much better than the f35

  • Two different roles. F-22 is an air dominance fighter, the F-35 is a multirole fighter.

  • true but can the f35 really replace the a10 in a ground attack role then ?

  • Probably.

  • well i don't think so

because the a10 has better stats

these include it's low cost ,

it's excellent durability , slow flying speed and it's powerful cannon

the f35 can never have these attributes

  • Cheap infantry portable SAM's is the A-10's worst enemy. Not the F-35.

  • but remember the a10 can abosorb twice the amount of punishment any plane in the us air foce can and this was proven

  • Not a direct hit from a SAM.

  • ok but can a f35 take a sam and keep flying i wonder but it really depends on the skill of the pilot itself

  • Is the F-35 a stealthy fighter? Umm, yeah I think it is. And what's even better is that it won't have to get as low and slow as the A-10. Face, it the A-10's days are numbered.

  • true but what if the f35 experences problems because after all it's still being developed now and besides even if they neter active active service it will take a long time for them to completely replace all the a10 squadrons in a ground support role

  • The F-35 wouldn't be the replacement for the A-10. There would be no replacement, whatever is capable and available would most likely be used instead.

  • oh right well lets hope that the f35 proves capable considering how much money has been poured into it

  • Watching this video reminds me that in a few weeks time, these planes will be flying over my house for an entire month. The Farnborough Airshow is coming up! I'll be there watching all the action :)

  • I wish that the US military would not be selling the F-35 fighter to the Brits. This is our technology and it should be kept a guarded secret and kept out of the hands of our enemies. The government and military should trust no foreign government or military with our hardware. Enough said.

  • "I wish....Enough said."

They said the same thing when they wanted to intergrate all rifle munitions to the nato round so they would be inter compatable. we've sold the F-15's and F-16's to many nations like isreal, only the Brits are our closest ally. look what happened with Iran. we give em some F-14's, but they were useless without the missle technology we had.

  • The MiG-15 in the Korean War had bigger guns and could outurn the North American F-86 Sabre yet we achieved a 15:1 kill ratio! All thanks to skilled pilots. And by the way North American also designed the P-51 Mustang!

  • It also had to do with the F-86's radar site. The Mig was also less stable at high speed and in a dive, and had a WWII site that could hardly be adjusted at all.

  • But the USA has better trained pilots that is key!

  • i am agree, and the best planes.

  • when ever the Americans learn how to make good quality airplanes like Europeans and Russians then we can speak about....Americans have the stupidest person on Globe as a leader, and they want to make good airplanes.....what a joke!!!

  • what an retard r u.. Its true that they got the stupidest leader..but tha hell u think tthat mr bush is designing the planes??lol..America has great engeneers and they always had better quality then Europe or Russian planes..when ever a russian or europe aircraft was better, the US quickly makes smthng that better..they try to stay a step ahead..kinda smart actually

  • sstakis1: So you think G.bush so make jetfighters in USA? lol.. dumbass...

I am from europe, and we have JAS Gripen and Eurofighter, and you think these are better than American's plane? lol... Think again.. You can thank USA for your freedom. Or maybe you will joined russia???? Be ruled by a ironhand?

  • Learn English before you try to bat people around with it, you pretentious, ignorant braggart. You act like the citizen of the kind of ally we don't need.

American systems, personnel, and R & D are all plainly superior. You can ask anyone who knows what they are talking about, a they will tell you. Go back to prep school.

  • hehe.. Yes, my english are very bad, i know :( sorry..

All i said are at the US engineering feat, to make planes are very good..

But you where wrong that US dont need europa, that's very wrong.. Car industry, oil technology ++... We are a team,(US and Europe) and we will fight for our freedom together.. So maybe you should go back prep school yourself?? Learn about history and stuff??

  • Your English is surely better than his German.

  • I apologize for calling you names and making fun of your English. I do dislike when Europeans undervalue the United States. (My father is European, so I got that trait from him.) You are right: we are a team. Truce?

  • The program should be canceled. It is a big waste of money. The aircraft can't hit mach 2, the stealth properties arent as good as the f-22 and b-2, it has a small payload and it isnt manuerverable. In dogfighting, speed is everything, and a top speed of 1,200 mph isnt going to cut it. It only has 4 internal weapons stations as compared to 8 on the f-22. It isnt as stealthy as other craft, so low freq. radar could be more effective against it. To me, its a flying duck, and expensive one at that.

  • F-35 is a strike aircraft. It was not intended to be as stealthy as the f-22. It wasnt intended to go mach 2. Its a replacement for the f-16/18 in wich a very comparable. However the F-35 does have a lower RCS than the f-16/18. Longer loiter time, a more advanced radar, and longer range.

This plane is used along side the f-22. The theory is the f-22 clears the airspace, the f-35 bombs the targets. F-35 does have some Air to air capablilities.

  • Its not even an engine problem for the f-35, because it has the most powerful engine in a conventional jet fighter to date at 40,000 lbf, but it either weighs too much or it isnt aerodynamic. IDK which one, but it did make me stop pursuing a career in the air force because of the thought that I'd fly one of these...

  • Pratt & Whitney developed the engine from their F119 turbofan which powers the F-22 Raptor. The F135 integrates the F119 core, a six-stage HP compressor and single-stage HP turbine unit, with a new low-pressure spool featuring a very high pressure ratio fan driven by a two-stage LP turbine. In addition, the propulsion system features prognostic and on-condition management systems that provide maintenance awareness, autonomic logistic support, and automatic field data and test systems.

  • Don;t know what you are sorry worried about.. The f-35 has a near thrust to weight ration of 1:1. better than any other plane in it's class. World wide. On test flights an f-16 chase plane had to use it's after burners several times to keep up with the f-35's turning radius. Maybe you just don;t like the looks of it, I dont know. BUt it has met all the requirements that have been set. I feel safe knowing this plane will protect our country.

  • I like the looks, I just am worried that it might not be as good as it should be. But something I researched did make me feel more comfortable. The US did de-classify the RCS for its stealth aircraft, somewhat. All of them have a RCS of at least .0001 meters squared. That means it in fact cannot be detected by S-400 as the Russian fanboys claim. It can detect targets 1m2 at smallest. So I guess it does do the job.

  • "de-classify"

Thats a word that I don't trust from any country. None of them will ever give their true stats. I am sure the plane is very capable.

  • Thus, my use of the word somewhat. But the RCS is probably even smaller than what was disclosed. It wouldnt make sense to put that out just to purchase more.

  • those are so cool i want one

  • why doesnt it close its landing gear during flight?

  • bc it is a test flight low altittude

  • did you see the pilot........he pushing 60s or 70s

  • Are all the JSF vertical take off and landing or is it only the ones for the marines and navy

  • only the Marines type B version can take off vertically, they are due to replace the harrier on their small carriers. the type C is a standard aircraft carrier version such as the f-18. the type A is just a regular take off and landing version for the air force.

  • the f 35 is nice and all but if it only matches the f 16 in maneuverability whats the point of the jsf project when the could have made a better version of the f 16 even so it is impressive to take of verticly but still in a dog fight its toast against a j 10 euro fighter or even an f 18 i dont see why to spend all that money for a better version of the hairrer. It's truly a bad idea and concept.

  • Heres my reasoning... Stealth, a whole lot more internal fuel (range), advanced avionics, lots of common parts with the F-22 and throw in some politics for good measure. To survive combat the idea is to avoid dogfights with anyone hence the stealth and avionics.

  • the US wanted a fighter platform that could be shared by the air force, navy and marines to save money. its probably better to have three planes that can share parts then to have three planes that are completely different. im sure it will perform better when it enters production (I hope since if i get into the CF as a pilot ill most likely be flying one)

  • You only have to look at the success the British had in creating the Harrier, it's a fantastic all-round aircraft that can perform various tasks.

However, it's 40years old now and the JSF brings that concept into the 21st century with a stunning new plane.

  • lets hope the liberals don't get back in power so Canada can get their order of these, the last time Canada tried updating our forces, the liberals canceled the contract and ended up costing Canada more then if they went through with the contract.

  • I'm trying to get in the Canadian Forces as a pilot and i wouldn't mind flying one of these for the last few years of my flying career

  • amen to that. I am kinda excited that Canada is considering deeply into buying 65 of these. It would be a huge statement because the last time we had such a technological achievement was before they cancelled the Avro Arrow project back in the 1950s.

  • Why was he flying with his landing gear down?

  • They were testing the aircraft.

  • Standard operatiing procedure during flight test. The BF1 flight (STOVL) had gear down as well. I think the reasoning is because they aren't testing those systems at that point and why take the chance having the gear fail to come down.

  • The differnce is, the Jews, Hindus, and Budihsts aren't currently killing Americans.

  • Muslims aren't killing Americans, dumbass, SOME Muslims are, and there's a big difference between the IED-laying extremists and your run-of-the-mill Turk.

  • A joint project with Turkey? They may be a member of NATO, but they're still a Muslim country! Let 'em buy third rate exports from Russia, like the rest of the Islamic world.

  • adolph you have mid-east blood in your veins foo! Don't deny your Turkish connections m8. Turkey has substantial CCIP F-16 fleet plus is scheduled to assemble F-35 there for the USAF, dummy!!! LMAO you didnt know that?

How do you think Labor costs will be controlled and up to 200x F-35 per year produced!?!

  • Well the difference is that people known as the "turks" come from Northern china...

Don't confuse them with the turkified-islamised populations of middle east...

  • The US is an Islamic country too. Just like we're a Christian country, a Bhudist country, a Jewish country, a Hindu country, and an atheist country. It's called secularism. Thanks to the US Constitution. Love it or leave it.

  • P12psicop, I agree. I wish these anti-constitutional christian dominionists would leave. They have no business here.

  • I thought we were trying to help the muslims. You are a stupid racist and politically unsophisticated to a shocking level. We are not at war with the worlds 1 billion+ Muslims. (or are we?) As for the rest of the Islamic world, look at the Saudi air force. (it's effectiveness aside, for the time being.) Yes, the Islamic world receives American arms. Pakistan depends on the F-16, for example, and expects it to be a nuclear weapons carrier. Dumbmothafucka!

  • i fucking love aircraft

  • All I'm saying is, we shouldn't trust anyone that much, except the Brits. Our advanced combat aircraft should stay OURS.

  • I know...

  • i think F-22 Raptor can do better.

  • the F-35 can be used for more

  • nedemek türk değil kardeşim verirsin parayı alırsın bu kadar basit..

türkiye sadece satın almadı. hemde yapımınada ortak oldu!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • YEAH

    f35 new turkish aircraft

  • Sorry but its not a "turkish" aircraft. It`s an US aircraft with several developing partners. Turkey is one of them (Level3 Partner). Turkey and its subcontractor TAI (Turkish Aerospace Industries) will produce up to 100 F-35A for TuAF. The other main partners are: US (Level0),UK(Level1),Italy&Netherlands(Level2),Turkey,Australia,

Denmark,Norway and Canada(Level3). I think the JSF the right choice against the Eurofighter!

  • Can someone tell this guy he forgot to put the tyres up...

  • I don't like the idea of sharing tech with so many countries. UK, Can, OK, but, France? Couldn't we just sell them some really expensive white flags?

  • France is NOT a partner of the JSF program. The partners are: US,UK,Italy,Netherlands,Canada,Turkey,Norway,

Australia and Denmark!Israel and Singapore have joined as Security Cooperative Participants.

  • adolph14 ur not sharing tech with so many countries. the most expensive and advanced systems in this a/c are from BAe lol.

  • USA, UK, france, australia, canada, finland, norway, italy helped build one of the scariest looking modern warfare planes i have ever seen/

  • F-22 is best

  • true

  • low-end

  • wohoo the danish flag is on the plane! :D

  • ...AND the ?

  • ...that was a reply, but youtube decided it wasn't, go figure.

  • canada is getting these

  • what did he say anone speak that languge

  • you're asking... why they doesn't follow a chronology while naming the fighters?

well they follow it to name their planes, but even their disastrous projects or failures continue named as f19 f20...

so you'll only see the projects that were sucessfull

  • good hot dog roasting fire at 23-35

    lol

  • Why does the fucktard leave the landing gear down?

  • Because that is a test flight and that is what the flight profile called for. Think of it as baby steps...

  • It was the first flight, no need for the inmature language. anything could have gone wrong.

  • man as soon as i saw that i was gonna write down the exact same thing. great minds think alike haha

  • you think a flanker can beat this jet? the answer is no.

  • it should never come to a dogfight in the firstplace dude.

  • suomivum-Your comment is an excellent example of why some people should not be allowed to reproduce.

  • that's why they invest so much in BVR ordinates

  • Don't over-simplify. Vector thrusting isn't everything.

  • the F22s regular arodynamics would overcom the 1 combat su thats made the su37 and there is an f15 variant that was desinged, before we made the raptor,to take out the terminater (sry swartzinager)

  • the X-32 is WAY better we should be gettin them lol or some flankers

  • flanker is better

  • Molto bene, molto bene. Grazzia

  • This plane is so expensive...and the countries haven´t got all the money to operate it.

  • Well, then its either this or build there own fighter. And unless they have the money and resources to do it on their own, then there is no other option. All capabilties come at a price. If you want cheaper, go ahead. But in the end, you get a VW Bug instead of a Ferarri. Yes you will get a car, but it will never be a Ferarri.

  • its a fraction of what an F22 costs

  • the reason it got the contract is because it was relatively cheap and easy to build. The F-22 is expensive

  • look wha

  • Given trends in autonomous aircraft, you could probably see 5-10 armed UAVs per stealth fighter the US produces in the coming years. If you cant go in with stealth, overwhelm it with radio controled flying death machines.

  • lol the chinese make our tvs, games, etc

we make our own god damn jets and tanks lol
