I do believe there's some crucial info that is missing that may be leading you to misconceive where I'm coming from, and we don't know each other as people so I'm sure you have a story as I do. You may be surprised to believe that I never believed yesterday was the end of the world because no Catholic would believe any such claim. At the risk of starting a whole new theological debate with any Fundamentalist Evangelicals (something I'm not interested in doing on this YouTube user's video post that has already been saturated with this debate), Catholics take Jesus' words literally when he says we know neither the day nor the hour that He will return.
Nor do Catholics believe in the rapture as this theology was developed much later than the teachings of Jesus and the Apostles, even though some may claim the words of St. Paul attest to it. He speaks of being "caught up in the clouds", but there's more to it to explain the Catholic interpretation, and I'm not going into that here. All I have to say is that you have judged what I believe wrongly on just about every count.

However, what I find astounding (and a bit ironic given that he claims to rely on facts) is the multitude of claims with no facts to support them.
Re: no facts: "Jews aren't concerned with sin". False. Read Psalm 50/51. Next, regarding a "2 thousand year old book written by some goat herder". False again. The Bible is many books, and most of them are much older than 2 thousand years, some written by very prominent people (e.g. David and Solomon in the Psalms). That Christians believe the world is 10,000 yrs old: false, at least not the Catholic Church's teaching on the matter, which is what I believe (interesting assumption you made).
Re: no facts again: Christianity is opposed to science. False. Once again, the Catholic Church is responsible for modern science, not an enemy of it. The most common objection to this is the Galileo story. Except a closer examination as to what actually happened will reveal that it was a *priest* by the name of Copernicus that actually came up with the theory Galileo was promoting, and the Church was fine with Galileo promoting the theory.
Re: Galileo: The problem with Galileo was that he was--like you--insisting that science and the Church were incompatible by asserting that certain miracles in the Bible could not have happened due to heliocentric theory. Galileo was not a theologian, he was a scientist. The Church encouraged his being a scientist, but when he started meddling with theology--an area in which he clearly knew little about--that was his error. A miracle by definition includes a suspension of natural law.
Re: Galileo: If a miracle by definition is a suspension of natural law, any science that attempts to describe nature is irrelevant because it doesn't apply. Therefore, Galileo was simply being arrogant and insisting that his science (which really wasn't even his) made God wrong. In the end, it was a sad episode in history because of the misunderstanding it created. What's even more tragic is that Copernican theory is still only an approximation, and people still use this against the Church.
The truth of the matter is that the Church and Christianity have advanced, even built western civilization as we know it, and so many of the things we enjoy, from international and western law, to art, architecture, and music, to science, to economics, to its charitable outreach, to morality--ALL have their roots in the Catholic Church. It's not fashionable these days to say so, but THAT, my friend, is what the facts say.
And if you want some starter reading to begin educating yourself on these matters, I would be happy to point you to some useful sources, 'cause making the claims you make without real evidence to prove them just makes you look bad and I'd rather help you out.

Heroin feels good and numbs pain but does that also make it good for people? Regardless, no one ever made the claim that Jesus was un-dead. We do know that He died. We do know that He rose from the dead (and no, not just because the Bible says it, because there are historical accounts of eyewitnesses to these things). We also know that His followers included all different kinds and ranks of people, ranging from the poor and weak to those of high status.
Paul was anything but weak considering what he did to the early Christians before he himself became one of the most prominent advocates of Christianity. Joseph of Arimathea was not an outcast, he was a member of the council and was wealthy. St. Luke was a physician and very well-educated...etc. etc.

It's not "after life", with a space because that would be a preposition and a noun and it has no specific meaning. Afterlife, on the other hand, is a self-contained noun that indicates and implies *life*.

Nor do Catholics believe in the rapture as this theology was developed much later than the teachings of Jesus and the Apostles, even though some may claim the words of St. Paul attest to it. He speaks of being "caught up in the clouds", but there's more to it to explain the Catholic interpretation, and I'm not going into that here. All I have to say is that you have judged what I believe wrongly on just about every count.

The Bible is many books, and most of them are much older than 2 thousand years, some written by very prominent people (e.g. David and Solomon in the Psalms). The most common objection to this is the Galileo story. Except a closer examination as to what actually happened will reveal that it was a *priest* by the name of Copernicus that actually came up with the theory Galileo was promoting, and the Church was fine with Galileo promoting the theory.

Galileo was not a theologian, he was a scientist. The Church encouraged his being a scientist, but when he started meddling with theology--an area in which he clearly knew little about--that was his error. A miracle by definition includes a suspension of natural law.

Also, let's not forget the fact that "God is God of the living, not of the dead", so the concept of heaven being for dead people is misinformed. Some people call it afterlife, which is a closer description of what it is. Note the use of the word "life" and the absence of a space. i agree. The music is uncalled for. this is a victory for Jesus no matter what it looks like! He was strong and full of spirit until he cried with a loud voice and gave up the ghost! The music should be triumphant!
