Great comic voice over. Cars had so much more style back then, even if it was bad style. What have we got now? They all look like boxes or are identical plastic rubbish.
Nostalgic - thank goodness we aren't so sexist now. I expect the Marzal could do 210 km/h - probably in those days the Brits just assumed any manufacturer's figure was given in imperial units!
@BaddaBigBoom My husband has just bought me a 1966a Sunbeam Rapier, because I fell in love with it. He is now reworking the electrics etc and we should be on the road soon! Yippee!
Thanks for posting this video. I lived in England in the late 60's and loved our family's Sunbean Rapier. One great feature was overdive in 3rd & 4th.
@lambophil7, the official top speed of the Lamborghini Marzal is 225 kph (140 mph). It probably oversteers badly and might break in half on hitting a bump. It sits in a museum now.
Triumph and Citroen were massively ahead of their time in those days. Triumph for example had fully independant suspension front and rear, fuel injection, they tested the rotary throttle body, and Citroen had Hydropneumatic suspension and those turning lights.
The only way weve come on since then is safety such as air bags and crumple zones.
that Victor still looks gorgeous as does the Karmann Ghia - pity about the TR5's short life. Reckon the Rapier at the beginning was in response to the Barracuda? Drunk driving must have been funny in 67
We haven't come very far in 40 years.... on this video there is fuel injection, electric cars, moving headlamps (just rediscovered by Honda) alleged 210mph. The modern motor industry needs to kick itself up the ar-e!!
So have i got this right. We only let women drive so their husbands can get pissed up? lol.

They even showed my Victor! Well, not the car actually owned by me, but the same model, anyway.

Lamborghini Marzal?! there exists footage of it? Nice. It would NEVER do 210 though thats rubbish. 140/50 tops if that..

It's kph, not mph.
