I know the OP of this video said that it runs on gasoline, however, the lack of a couple things make me wonder if this is even real or if this is a faked video.
1) Where is the gas and where is the gas being fed into this motor?
2) Is this a 2-stroke or 4-stroke type engine? If it is a 2-stroke engine, where's the 2-stroke exhaust smoke? If this is a 4-stroke engine, where is the normal exhaust smoke?
3) An open-frame motor needs OIL. Where is the oil?
@lazzer408 funny thing is, butane, under pressure is a liquid. So when you put it in the fuel chamber of the V-Twin, it will be a liquid and the normal cycle of an engine will occur.
thats a really sweet machine you got there man !! did you made it yourself? were does the spark come from ? i didnt see an ignition for the conderserpoints.
@divisioneight only if you have a single crankpin v-twin..(aka harley-davidson) but any engine with 2 cylinders in a v configuration is called a v -twin
i only sin this 2day in a catalouge that came threw my door, how strange,,, its costs £725 . 1.5cc per cylinder virtuly fume free runs between 200 and 1200rpm amazin . according to the discription in this catalouge. an im not sure but it may be 4st it dus say hear it has valves? i dno ?
I would guess that it's a 4-stroke, because you can see some movement going on up-top. With the 2-stroke, the piston and associated pieces (rod, wrist pins, etc) are the only moving parts, while a 4-stroke requires valves and such moving around up-top.
I dont know as a fact, but it looks like a 2 stroke to me with an intake valve, yes 2 strokes can have vales 2 stroke diesels have exhaust valves I belive maybe they are intake, dont remember, but there only apears to be one valve up top moving and the exhaust comes out at the bottom of the stroke, I didnt build it though so I dont know for sure
Technically it's not a V-twin, for it to be a V-twin both cylinders would have to drive the same point on the crankshaft (if anyone cares). Still, pretty cool machine.
Anyone who's curious this engine is made by a german company called Maier. This it the V-Twin model they also have a single, inline twin, four stroke single, and a four cylinder radial. oh and they run on lighter butane.
Can you drive something with? With like a drive belt just like old steam engines?

DrGoodwrench64 11 months ago
@DrGoodwrench64
1. it runs on propane, the fuel lines can be seen clearly at 0:43, up the side of the block and into the motor.
2. im assuming its a 4-stroke, and if memory serves me correctly, propane doesnt burn with smoke
3. probably lard on the connecting pins or something

cometpowell 1 year ago
@cometpowell Butane is a gas. "Gasoline" is a liquid.

cometpowell 1 year ago
@cometpowell I am aware but I think you ment gasoline correct?
lazzer408 1 year ago
@lazzer408
Let's get our terminology correct...
Butane at normal atmospheric pressure (open container at ground level) is a VAPOR, not a gas.
Gasoline at normal atmospheric pressure, is a liquid.

@vwflat4driver Nope, you're wrong ! This engine is a V2. If it have had only one crank pin then it would have been a V-Twin

Is it 2 or 4 stroke? Based on the exhaust, it looks 2 stroke, but where would the precompression occur with no crank case?
FliegenCockatiel 2 years ago
Gas/Air Mixture blows out the burned gases from the top. Its two stroke.
niffi2 2 years ago
that musta cost a pretty penny to make.. does it run on gasoline or LP gas ?
xadam2dudex 2 years ago
Gasoline, quite obviously. It had spark plugs.
FliegenCockatiel 2 years ago
LPG engines have spark plugs too. it ignights the gas/air mixture
blondemax 2 years ago 2
@FliegenCockatiel It will run on Propane or Butane. Not Gasoline.

maybe im crazy but i dont see the exhaust. give me a time where you can see it clearly

i mean smoke not pipes, i can see the pipes

it dosn't burn oil so there is no smoke
jacobc666 4 years ago
well apparently its a two stroke so it does burn oil and even if it wasnt there should be some exhaust

it burns butane so theres no smoke and no oil

Is the inlet valve atmosphere controlled, I can only see 1 pushrod per cylinder?
Does the gas enter the cylinder head, without throttle valve, just a mixture control?

I think yes on both counts.
