Poor thing is scared to death! Raccoons are nocturnal and do not come out during the day. Leave it alone and he will be ok and out of there as quick as he can.
eek, this seems funny unless it happens to you! I just had my kitchen DESTROYED by a really big raccoon falling through my damaged kitchen ceiling and tearing it all up as he went thru to hide in another part of the attic!
I know who to call! Animal Control, or Smith and Wesson.

It is there cleaning the cobwebs out of the corners. When it's done it will go away.
They also do chimneys.
