i tried cooking this before and served it to my parents. and they said they liked it!!! hehe. im making it again for my dinner today! :) thanks for this! :)
you can do all you asked..^^ if the chicken and beef has a little bit of seasoning and marinated.. it will taste even better..such as garlic, black pepper, salt, etc..
@thekpopworld1234 look for the production date and the expiration date. kimchi is a fermented food like cheese and the fresher it is, the less smell it will have. the best way to have fresh ones is to make it yourself but most store-selled ones will be at least a bit fermented. buy it fresh and eat it fast. hope it helps.
is it the same if i use 1 teaspoon of olive oil and half of sesame oil, and if i skip the egg? would it be considered fried kimichi rice?.... cuz i have a lot of kimchi in my fridge and im running out of ideas of how to use it, is tasty by the way
Aeri, thank you so much for posting this! I've been desperately missing 김치 볶음밥 since I left my favorite Korean restaurant; there are no good ones around my home. Now I'll enjoy one of my favorite dishes again! :D
@pokeboy85 it's a fermented vegetable. there are more than 100 types of kimchi. the first one was white, and then after the red pepper was introduced a lot of them are red. the main one that all Koreans make at home is made of long napa cabbage, but a lot of people make it with radishes, cucumber and other vegetables. the food was used in ancient times as food in winter times when food was scarce (fermentation makes bacteria produce important vitamins). kimchi is a great source of fiber too
@aeriskitchen When I tried to make this recipe with old rice, it turned out very hard and burned very easily. Is there something I can do to keep the texture the same, or was the fact that I used old rice just a coincidence and I did something wrong? x)
Hi! I know you add sesame oil near the end after you've fried the rice, but what kind of oil did you use to fry the kimchi and rice before that? Is it just vegetable oil? I want to try this recipe tomorrow!! :)
heyy i would like to ask about this kind of food i ate at a friend's house and its like seafood wrapping and inside is like rice.. do you have any idea what it's called?
@SandraCui Was It Korean? Was It JUST Seaweed Wrapping and Rice? If it was just seaweed wraping and rice it could be "Onigari" But I dont think Onigari is Korean, perhaps Japanese.
Uggh now im craving some serious korean food lol, is there any chance you can do a video on this bulgogi soup with noodles and sliced rice cake? I tried to look for recipes and couldnt find any but it looks delicious!!
I have that recipe on my blog.. please check it out.. if you reserch "Clay Pot BulGoGi" on my blog, you will find it. I didn't added sliced rice cake in that recipe..
Kimchi is fermented napa cabbage. There are hundreds different kinds of kimchi..but the most common kimchi is.. napa cabbage kimchi and it has spicy and sour flavor in it.
you mean.. just rice part ??? I just wanted to show to people what 1 cooked rice bowl looks like.. hehe.. you can add all at one time..or different time will not make much different either.. ^^

Hi Aeri. Got a question for you: I made my kimchi fried rice just by adding salt and egg to it, it was nice but definitely something was missing :-) If I don't have sesame oil/seed around, any suggestion for its substitute? Thx a lot!
what cookware are you using? i have been looking for good non-stick cookware for a while now but have been unable to find anything of worth. most of mine loose their non stick properties pretty quickly =[
Oh.. I throw away the pan since I changed my stove to induction cooktop. (It needs special pans..) so I can't remember what I was using in this video. Recently I got cusineart nonstick pans.. so far I'm satisfied with them. You can find them online.. amazon.. thanks

@IreneHeartz Beet sugar (As opposed to cane sugar) doesn't caramelize properly and burns right away. It's cheaper than cane sugar due to tariffs. If your sugar was labeled sugar you should assume it's not cane sugar.

Thank you, for the video. Kim Chee fried rice is one of my bf's favorite meals. This was my first time making it for our dinner tonight. It came out great.
I love your videos and also I was wondering when you prepare kimchi fried rice,do you usually use rice that has just been cooked or leftover rice?It looked like you did use rice that has just been cooked and it seemed to look like it would absorb the flavors real well.Keep up with more delicious videos!!=)
you can use both leftover rice or freshly cooked rice.. In korea we think... this food is good to use your leftover rice.. ^^ for my video..i used fresh cooked rice. ^^
Just one thing.. I normally say "See you soon again." not "ok" hehe... it was funny and cute you heard like that.. it must be my poor pronunciation. :)
just wait until it's fermented.. it might be a little better once it's fermented..
you can use the fermented or old kimchi for kimchi stew.. it will work for it.. because sometimes I like to add more garlic in the stew... so in that case... your over garlic flavored kimchi will work good. yes.. don't throw away your valuable kimchi ^^
it can be depending on .. how long you left in room temperature before you put it in the refrigerator..and what your refrigerator and room temperature are... normally it will take about 2 to 3 weeks ... depending on your taste.. you can eat earlier or later..
This looks so delicious! I've been wanting to try fried kimchi rice ever since I saw it in a S. Korean drama, Beautiful Days a few months ago. lol!! I can't wait to try it!
@assbleeder it was plain?? kimchi itself is quite salty and savory... one thing you can add is sesame oil or sesame seeds. you can also add some other vegetables like spinach, or wrap the rice in Korean style cripsy salted/sesame oiled seaweed (laver) or sesame leaves and eat it that way
@assbleeder I add little bits of seaweed and there is somthing called pepper paste, its blood red, but if you add about a spoonful or so, it shoudl taste more better with a little bit more taste.
excused me, what is kimchi? it looks like cabbage!!! am i right? with spicy sauce right? how to make kimchi?

I love your videos and also I was wondering when you prepare kimchi fried rice,do you usually use rice that has just been cooked or leftover rice?It looked like you did use rice that has just been cooked and it seemed to look like it would absorb the flavors real well.Keep up with more delicious videos!!=)

@hellorita242
you can use both leftover rice or freshly cooked rice.. In korea we think... this food is good to use your leftover rice.. ^^ for my video..i used fresh cooked rice. ^^

haha... thanks ^^
Just one thing.. I normally say "See you soon again." not "ok" hehe... it was funny and cute you heard like that.. it must be my poor pronunciation. :)

@aeriskitchen regardless of your pronunciation, WE LOVE YOU. :)

Hey!!! my friends and I made kimchi the other day but we put way too much garlic and its kind of over-powering the kimchi flavor..... :P
do u know how I can fix this??
cuz it seems such a shame to throw it away.....
jalsage 1 year ago
@jalsage
Oops.. sorry for late reply..
just wait until it's fermented.. it might be a little better once it's fermented..
you can use the fermented or old kimchi for kimchi stew.. it will work for it.. because sometimes I like to add more garlic in the stew... so in that case... your over garlic flavored kimchi will work good. yes.. don't throw away your valuable kimchi ^^

How long are you suppose to keep the kimichi refrigerated after you are done making it?
nerdyninja09 1 year ago
@nerdyninja09
it can be depending on .. how long you left in room temperature before you put it in the refrigerator..and what your refrigerator and room temperature are... normally it will take about 2 to 3 weeks ... depending on your taste.. you can eat earlier or later..
aeriskitchen 1 year ago
Where can you go to get some Kimichi?
Because my aunt bought some and it wasn't red looking like the one in the
video.
nerdyninja09 1 year ago
@nerdyninja09 Any Korean market should perhaps supply them. It depends on where you live: to the have H-Mart's where you live?
BlackWolf4830 1 year ago
@BlackWolf4830 I live in California, Sacramento.

I made this today. It was really good, but it was a little plain. What kind of toppings can I add to this?
assbleeder 1 year ago
@assbleeder it was plain?? kimchi itself is quite salty and savory... one thing you can add is sesame oil or sesame seeds. you can also add some other vegetables like spinach, or wrap the rice in Korean style cripsy salted/sesame oiled seaweed (laver) or sesame leaves and eat it that way
tokee1234567 1 year ago
@assbleeder I add little bits of seaweed and there is somthing called pepper paste, its blood red, but if you add about a spoonful or so, it shoudl taste more better with a little bit more taste.
my OPINION. :D
TheGhettoPrick 1 year ago
does it have to be shin kimchee or can it be any kind of kimchee (like just made kimchee)?
jypegirl94 1 year ago
@jypegirl94 it should be 신(shin) kimchee,, it will taste better and just made kimchee doesnt have that fermented flavor..
But this is my OPINION :)
