located somewhere, unfortunately not on the owner’s manual or in any fuse box, what I feel really bad about is that I own two of these vehicles one of them is 2002 and the other one is 2003, they both look like, I didn't see any difference in parts or body-style, just wondering if someone have replaced a relay on this 2002 rav4 and tell me where it is located at?
My driver side lock and window are dis-functional every other doors and windows are fine, I cannot lock or unlock this door using my power switch, the window closes and opens whenever it wants some times it stops halfway being electronic technician myself, I thought this power door has a "RELAY"
Does a 2002 Toyota RAV4 have a relay for window motor?
This car is one of the cheap-material-made junk one ever buys, it took Toyota years to finally recall transmission problem on sears of 2001-2003 more people are complaining about the driver side window and power lock as well but Toyota doesn't seem to be paying attention!.
For years, the RAV4 was built in Japan. But as of Nov. 2008, the new RAVs are built of Canadian pride in Toyota's new plant in Woodstock, ON. I personally like this design of RAV4 the best.
@OscarMaris Maybe the VW GTI would compare better to a ....say....a Subaru WRX wagon. I actually own a RAV4 sport now. Posted my 1/4 mile time and dyno numbers at Dragtimes. Great vehicle. I can't complain! Check out Car and Drivers latest SUV comparison with the RAV4 in it. Came out #1 and mpg was better or equal to the rest in the segment...even the 4 cylinders.
@OscarMaris I do. I have to carry a large Pelican tool case, a suitcase, laptop bag and occasionally a 6 foot ladder. The RAV4 can swallow that with room to spare and gets great gas mileage.
In '07 drove a rav4 2.4L about 1800 miles and I was very surprised. It had good power in city and country, but needed room to pass on the hwy, but not too much. The mileage was awesome, i thought the fuel gauge was broken at first. Comy ride, solid, quiet, and reliable. Took a while to get used to the controls though. I drive a '87 SR5 and it's still going strong, Toyota's are like a freaking Timex - luv'em.
Here MotorWeek is talking about Rav4 changes and completely fails to mention the biggest one. Some models, like the one they tested, no longer have the spare on the rear door!! Hurray!!
that's faster that the GT-86

Even though the 3rd row seating is small, it's still nice to have this compact SUV to have the feature. IMHO this car is better than the CRV.

This V6 Rav 4 is the best mix of price/performance/practicality on the road today IMO.

I would definitely go with the 4x4 V6

1/4 mile in 14.8 seconds @ 99mph.
AWESOME!!!

@myxalplyx that is good but the MPG ain't so awesome. You can get the same speed from a VW GTI and with better mileage and handling,

@OscarMaris You don't get the same amount of room though. The RAV is cavernous, and I'm NOT a Toyota fan.

@OscarMaris When me know when you get your GTI out of the mud after getting stuck.
Rav4 can hold up to 7 people, some luggage inside and shitload on top while towing a trailer. Can your GTI do that?

@happyboyy8k they're not even in the same segment. The BMW is way more expensive.

@happyboyy8k People have made 5's before, but very high 5's stock. Depends on road and weather conditions

Women overwhelmingly prefer the CR-V
But the Rav4 can tow more, carry more people, is faster, and is even efficient with the V6

they do mention it near the end, at about 5:50

Ya, that's unusual. I swung by the dealer earlier today and all '09 models had the door mounted spare. Perhaps they're an option.
edward500mp 2 years ago
Run-flats are an option only with the Sport (not base or Limited). Too bad the spareless doors remain swinggates rather than liftgates...
