  • The Sharpe Series should never end!!! I love them all!

    jdmongo@att.net

  • sharpe's indian trilogy is excellent. however i can't understand what possible reason was there to move it on tv. to a period after waterloo? sharpe mentions his indian service when in europe, and has a later adventure in chile that could have been filmed also (if they wanted him post-waterloo). the indian novels deserved accuracy and a younger actor in a series all their own.

  • How did they wangle sending him back to India when he's older than he is in all the other films? Oh well...

  • @BaldGrace it's set in 1818 (i think) in any case, it's after waterloo... but you've probably already seen it

  • "Take CUVVAH"!

  • I still think that the books are a lot better

  • I have read most of the books and seen all the shows so i was really looking forward to sharpes peril. What a shame it turnd out to be poor. The writers messed up big time on this one! maybe why itv have dropped the series until further notice.

  • All that's missing is Sharpe's Retirement.

  • To tell you the truth, I really didn't like Sharpe's Peril. I like all the other Sharpe episodes (especially Challenge),but in Sharpe's Peril, they really seemed to mess it up. Like, Sharpe actually bled Wellington's horse, not a prince's. And Sean and Darrough (spelling?) lost their touch. It was a huge disappointment, in my opinion. No offense, I still like the series, its just the writers really seemed to mess it up.

  • @Infantryman123 true take it you read (think it was sharpes tiger ? maybe sword?)

  • @TheScottyc93 Yea, it was Sharpe's Triumph where the stuff I was talking about occurred.

  • Sharpe and Harper are both getting old... now they are on their 50's. So they still were pretty old when they started in 1993. Sean was 36 yrs old.

  • oh yay another sharpe!!! its unfortunate harris or hagman cant stop being dead

  • looks great. I guess I'll be waiting for it on dvd whenver it comes out.

  • never not enough Sean

  • Peril is 100 times better than Challenge I'm thrilled to see new episode an improvement. But what's up with 2 episode & zero romance for Sharpe? Script writer needs to give our lad a GIRLFRIEND & write romantic scenes. So far in "Challenge" & "Peril" Sharpe is celibate, which makes NO sense - what is a Sharpe episode without our lad canoodling and having a cuddle party w/a gorgeous babe? He's not given a chance to hook up in last 2 episodes - give a dog a bone! Even @ 49 Bean is hearthrob

  • Sharpes Peril seems to have alot of the book Sharpes Triumph about it. In Sharpes Triumph, Sergeant Sharpe is in his late twenties, and certainly is not celibate with Madame Joubert.

Reading the books is much more fun, but Richard Sharpe is a much harder and darker character.

  • "Stand by you bastad!" class, take that jack bauer!

  • holy crap are they ever old. I miss the days when he was a young officer fighting the french with his chosen men

  • this was epic....can't belive the fat bastard shopped them all, but they beat them in the end : )

  • watched the 2 part not few 30 min ago it was great better than challenge

  • I've read the press release for the second part, it's on the ITV website. It tells you what happens in ep 2. It's gonna be good!

  • I'm gonna take a guess/prediction here, the young officer is sharpes son!

  • That was one hell of an episode last week was it not im getting stoned to watch the sundays one yay

  • he dosnt die in the books, and this episode was brilliant, i hope harper dosnt die or sharpe. i cannot wait for next weeks episode, its gonna be amazing :D

  • a rather gorgeous looking zaf (raza jaffrey) from spooks 2.29

  • this was a good first part! cnt wait for the next part next week! the new theme it grat dose anyboady no were i can get it on the net for free??

  • huzaa sharpe is back on!

  • I don't think he'll die Bernard Cornwell said there were two in the pipeline after Challenge! Woop Woop

  • if u read the books he dies in his farm with his french wife. His son becomes a high ranking officer in some army i forgot and his daughter gets married.

  • And which book would that be? Since I own all of them and he hasnt died yet. Infact Bernard is still writing Sharpe...

  • i read it in another book, called sharpe companion. it gives an overview of what goes on throughout the books.

  • Now...you see. That book isnt written by Bernard, its written by Mark Adkin (I have it too) It tells you how he would have met his demise (aged 82 if I remember?) but he doesnt die in the books!

And yes, his son is the officer in the "Rebel" chronicles in the American wars

  • no i didnt say he dies in battle i said he dies of natural causes. Most books dont reveal all the information which the author had ever thought of. For example in Lord of the Rings many accomplice books have been published giving extra information which the author had not placed in the novels.

  • No, you never said he died in battle. You said, and I quote

"if u read the books he dies in his farm with his french wife. His son becomes a high ranking officer in some army i forgot and his daughter gets married"

Giving the impression he des in one of the books in the series, as opposed to Bernard saying he likes to think that Sharpe died an old man in his house with Lucilla

  • Someone needs to teach the ITV editors how to make proper trailers!

  • Yay can't wait to see it its on itv at 9pm on the 2nd nov not long to wait =p

  • omg cant wait

  • i hope that last sentence doesnt mean hes going to die

  • Yessss 1.40 yet another young aspiring officer killed in combat whilst Sharpe is present!!!!

Anyone see similarities to Triumph with the horse bleeding reference?

  • They have done it again!!! Another fantastic truly Awesome Sharpe. Thanks for posting just cannot wait to get the DVD!!

  • does he end up with the blond girl

  • It's Sharpe. He'll at least shag her once.
