I kind of prefer the time Eva 01 went Berserk on Zeruel. Don't get me wrong, I LOVE this battle -the motions are beautiful and you can feel his rage-, but the Eva's scream feels kind of... mechanical.

In the battle against Zeruel, the scream feels so primal and animalistic. It scared the shit out of me when I first watched it.

Something I love about this combat is, after EVA 01 has gone berserk and nearly ripped Sachiel's face off, how Fuyutsuki says that they've already won.

I don't know. There's so much style in the way he says it: An Evangelion goes apeshit, NERV is scared shitless about what they're watching, you actually feel SORRY for Sachiel... and both Gendo and his subcommander aren't the slightest surprised or disturbed.

I can hear the sound EVA makes at 1:14.. The growl.. That sound is bad ass, but the sound coming after that isn't so much to me..

Yes technically its under control of the dummy plug. BUT All the DP really does is allow the EVA to go berserk, but be somewhat controlled. Since EVA-01 did grunt and had its mouth open the majority of that time.

The DP don't allow it to go berserk thats the Eva's soul that become in control when the pilot is under alot of mental stress.

The DP is just a copy of the pilots brain that allows the eva to be used with out a human pilot but it only work's IF the eva's soul allow's it.

If that was so..why did it not behave like it normally does with Shinji or comparativly Rei's piloting? Yes it is a exact copy of the pilot, and yes the EVA must allow it. But DP basicly allows the EVA to be in a berserk mode but still retain a controllable state.

The Eva only control's it self when it enter's berserk mostly to save the pilot.

That been said when rei tryed to use unit 00 at first it did reject her and go simi berserk trying to get her out.

Kitzeroii the only time the Dp ever worked was to kill the 14th angel since shinji would not fight it since he was scared to hurt the other pilot.

That been said the last of the eva's used the DP plug but that was made form an angel not a human. (Tho humans are one large angel 18/9th i think)

Anyone noticed how in the US version the roars EVA 01 makes are cut out? The only time I heard it roaring in the US version was when it ate one of the Angels. They kept the roars to EVA 00 when both modes of it berserk and when EVA 03 jumps down to attack EVA 01 but when EVA 01 strangles EVA 03 (which looked and sounded rather painful), the quivering moan it makes is cut out.

Technically that was the "Berserk" thing yeah, or rather the foreplay/intro/preface/whateve­r to it, but I wouldn't call it berserking-the-fuck-out until they actually stomp some ass, which Asuka only did before her Eva went mental :(

So in this new edition of Evangelion I do hope that Asuka goes well and truly into the "berserk" thing as that would be goddamn entertaining.

Eva-01 is cool. It is cool everytime Shinji goes Berserk. I liked it the second time the best, and the one when Eva-01 ate the Angel, Zeruel was it.
