Thanks for the nice video. Can you please tell me what's the voltage range for the AC adapter.will it work for 220 volts coz i have ordered one from US but not sure if it only runs on 110 volts. Thanks!
@dragonriderpictures thanks. i am picking this up next week. o and do you have any clue how much the bulbs are for this? i know it gets 15000 to 20000 hours so i wont need one for awhile. i just wanted to buy an extra one.
@gamerforlife2010 I never knew about any replacement bulbs you could buy for these but considering the price the projector sells at and how long the built in ones last I think it would be cheaper just to buy a new projector if they did not offer a replacement bulb.
@xXDatGlitchingKidXx Thank you for notifying me! There was actually another user who had stolen my video and I reported them as well. I have never had a video so popular it was being copied.
@dragonriderpictures yay! we got that bastard lol. oh btw after i saw this review i ordered it :) should be coming in tommorow :D thanks for the review
Hi, great unboxing. Could you tell me if there is a fan on it or, because it's LED, is it silent? Have had a projector for some time and its great but the fan noise can be really annoying.
@StunnedByStupidity Yes there is a fan on the PK301. When you plug it in to get the extra brightness it does get the fan going to produce a bit of noise but if you are watching a movie with audio or anything along those lines then the fan becomes completely unnoticeable. Hope this helps.
@dragonriderpictures Thanks alot for the reply. If the fan is as quiet as you say I think I might just have found my next projector... Cheers much appreciated..
My PS2 has a composite and an S-Video Cable, and for my PSP I have a component cable....i read somewhere that u can connect them, but i don't see how since the PK301 doesn't have those colored holes(sorry can't remember the exact word, hope u understand).do u need an adapter to do it?and what adapter?plz help...i'm really excited about it too....
@lostdreamer50 Thank you for the awesome comment! You can hook it up to those but you will need to go online and buy the right cables for the projector. There should be component cables for the PK301 on Amazon but for S-Video I am not certain on. They all pretty much connect through either the Universal I/O Port or the AV in Port with the right adapters. Hope this helps.
@dragonriderpictures i dunno, when i play 360 or anything that has small letters on it, they come out blurry,i am thinking it is the lense, im going to try to throw acouple of hundred extra dollars in and get a better one,one day :( it runs old nintendo games great, its just the stupid 360 and its games with tiny letters come out blurry.
@1787dude Yeah for me it always has just a bit of trouble with small text when you are displaying a large image but overall it does a very good job at getting more detailed shapes in instead of smaller lines.
@dragonriderpictures u know i was looking and i think i can get a bigger one for 300 dollars, i want one that has a bigger circuit board and a fan, waaay more reliable. if i was just using the optoma for movies and maybe old games it wouldve been perfect
@1787dude Yeah, There is no doubt that the PK301 is definitely good for a bit of lower class media but hen you want stuff that advanced you can definitely get a much more heavy duty projector for the same price only it will not be portable like the PK301. I just like the Pk301 because it suits my needs for movies and some games now. When I end up waiting for a bit I may look to upgrade to what you are getting.
@dragonriderpictures ya i kinda didnt wanna get rid of mine because i know its going to be a while before i can get a new one, unless i get a cheap old one on ebay.i played fallout on it and it was raaaaddddd i was slammin raiders with a sledgehammer,
@dragonriderpictures i liked it but i returned mine, im going to get a bigger gumpier one that uses a lamp, i want the 2600 lumens compared to the 50 lumens, they say the lumens can make the contrast better and that will probly help the tiny text.i just dont like small electronics they get to hot and burn out.
Great review man. People like to pick on everything that is NOT perfect. Figuring you did this review on the fly, a mistake or two is acceptible. How would you compare the 301 with the 201? I know on paper it says the 301 can create a bigger picture but is that true? Keep up the awesome reviews.
@k81law Thanks dude! I always love great feedback on the videos I make especially if they are not perfect! Comparing the PK301 to the PK201 would be pretty easy. The picture quality will be way better from the 301 but to a good amount of people it my not be that noticeable. Also the 201 is much more of a portable design compared to the 301. However for the video quality and brightness you can get from the PK301 it is worth it to spend a little extra.

Well, you probably already figured it out by now, but for the sake of posterity, it's "matte finish". It has the the property of low gloss, which cuts down on specular reflections.
@PacoBell Ok, thanks. I always pronounced it as "ma-ti-ne" but it does have a matte finish on top of the projector. There is no reflection and almost no glare when light is shown on it.
@luxio43 You can expect to see a review sometime in the next couple of weeks. I've tried it out a bit today and it can display somewhere around 100 inches and still look awesome!
Great! It feels like Christmas time! I'm buying one from Amazon too, and can't wait to get it!!

@1kumaranchal I've looked at the plug and it says that voltage input can range from 100-240 volts. I am just going with what I read. Hope this helps.

@dragonriderpictures really? there's no way for me to watch cable on that?
gamerforlife2010 2 months ago
@dragonriderpictures so how far back from the wall do you need to be to get all 120 inch's?
gamerforlife2010 2 months ago
@gamerforlife2010 You would need to go back about 10 feet and have the room pretty dark. But if you are in pitch black the picture looks perfect!

i wanted to know does the blurriness go away with the actual projector screen???
1787dude 1 year ago
@1787dude Yeah. You can change the focus on the projector so when you shoot at different lengths then you can see a perfect picture.
dragonriderpictures 1 year ago
@dragonriderpictures well im gonna go mess with it and see if i can get it to not be all blurry???

@arun9986161113 Yes and when you do that it makes the image twice as bright as it would be on the battery alone!
dragonriderpictures 1 year ago
@arun9986161113 Yeah. It's pretty much a standard headphone jack for the device.
