@InternetLawman - I've always found playing with a pick much more difficult - I find 5 digits to 6 strings an easier ratio to deal with than one pick to 6 strings! We all learn differently, I guess.

And @InternetLawman, fingerstyle is not harder than using a pick, just different!

@MrMatBenJen Nope, it's more difficult. If it was easy, every self taught guitarist would be able to do it. If you pick up a beginning guitar book, they'll usually say use the pick because it's not as challenging as using all of your fingers.

As we all know, finger coordination requires more concentration since finger movement is more precise than wrist movement.

He may not be talented, but playing classical IS more difficult than using a pick.

In my honest opinion, playing with a pick is harder,probably because I started off with a thumbpick, so I am most comfortable with a thumbpick.

@BEGraduate Hmmmmmmm, its all about proper finger positioning and placing, so that you are able to change from 1 measure to another smoothly while letting all the notes ring. :)

Playing finger picking , plan how you approach those next measures by trying out which fingers of the left hand suit you the most ,then when you are comfortable,keep on practising that style or approach you are comfortable with

This guy (fever003) is great no doubt about that. I wanted to learn this song so badly. I just went about it slowly to get the mechanics of fingerpicking.. I use all of my fingers and I'm extremely thankful that I learned this way, for this song try to use your pinky on the high e string and getting familiar with that.. trust me it will help you in the long run. I now hardly ever think about my picking hand when im learning a new song. If you practice long enough it will become automatic. GL

@mustanglp50 ahh, now I get it, lol. Sorry. Well , it is a Simon & Patrick guitar, very good brand,medium range priced guitar. Errm I bought it back in Malaysia at RM1800, about £350 I think. It has very good sustain and tone. I miss that guitar so much, it has a really nice high-pitched tone to it as you can listen in this video. Made of mahogany wood, with spruce solid top.

@peripereira Hmmm....I cant tell. It depends on how much practice you put to it. Your fingers need to adapt to the hard steel strings(it will be painful for first-timers on an acoustic guitar) But again, just keep playing! You will get be able to play better than me!

Loved this video, thought you did an amazing job on it. I've found versions of solo tab for this song, I don't know if they're the same as yours, everyone seems to have a different take on it, but you did really, really well with this. It was smooth, but more than that you covered the basics: visual and sound quality. It was clear and easy to hear and see! I'm just looking around youtube to check out basic fingering for this, and I saw you had a thumb-finger pick. Did you just use that one>

@Vlatheron Hey thanks for the comment. Check out the extended version, it has the ending with it. But sound quality wise, this video has more quality to it, i was using a Simon & Patrik guitar which has amazing balanced sound. The extended video was recorded with better mic but poor guitar(Fender acoustic)

I used a thumbpick for all of my finger picking videos, except some videos which I used a pick and play "hybrid" picking.
