nocaro you have made my life better i had a bad accident 15 yrs. ago and i have to lie on my tummy for the duration cant even sit up i have my apple on a turn table and i can lie down and work it cant even get around to play my own, seems i can always count on you you have got my oldies and i appreciate you im 68 and love music god bless you for your work roger
During that time I was in the high school in Taichung, I was dreaming to date with a young girl, who did not really know. It was more than 45 years ago, yet this song was still touching to my heart and reminding the young teenager's days. How sweet the song and the memory which the song might bring to me! Thanks for uploading. Altough the time goes like a wind, I have a clear memory in my mind.
Happy New Year, Norcaro! You always have the best recordings and corresponding photos with your video posts. Looking forward to this year and seeing more from your channel!
Smooth. I can't imagine anyone else singing this song. And, since I can't find either the Tony Bennett or The Clovers version on YouTube, I can't even make a comparison.
@YY4Me133 I think I tried to post The Clovers' version (which is absolutely beautiful) a few years ago, but I think YouTube nixed it for copyright reasons (but I may try again soon). I did post Brenda Lee's version (which is also nice), but she copied the arrangement that was done for Bobby on this recording. Thanks for the note...Lanny (Nocaro)
@Nocaro I just checked out Brenda Lee's version. A woman singing it doesn't work, and it's not really her style. That said, I do enjoy hearing different versions of songs I like. I have a few in my collection, e.g. "All I Really Want To Do" by The Byrds and by Cher, "Barbara Ann" by The Regents and by The Beach Boys, and "Stay" by Maurice Williams and by The Four Seasons. That's all I can think of off the top of my head. Anyway, you've got an incredible collection. Much more extensive than mine.
@YY4Me133 If you want to hear a great version of Maurice Williams on "Stay" find my post of it on YouTube remastered for stereo. Thanks for the note.
@Nocaro I just saw this when I came here to check out worldwidewandering's post. It seems YouTube hasn't been notifying me of responses to my comments. Sorry about that. I didn't ignore you.
I'm listening to Brenda Lee's version right now. I see what you mean by "she copied the arrangement." I like Brenda Lee, but prefer Bobby Vinton's version. Perhaps it's because Bobby Vinton's evokes memories, whereas, Brenda Lee's doesn't. I'm at that age, I guess. :o)
@worldwidewandering I just found "Blue Velvet" by "The Clovers," as well as by "The Paragons." It's interesting to hear how different individuals/groups perform the same song.
What a beutiful song
