you should get used to shooting without hearing protection. if something does happen i doubt your going to have any just a suggestion or if you use and i pod a lot while at work or elsewhere shot with your headphones in
@cutlerylover no i shoot a lot shotguns and pistols when my brother and i went to a concealed carry class they told us it would be smart to practice shooting without hearing protection not all the just sometimes there example if someone breaks into your house how are you going to have time to grab ear protection and put it in before whoever it was harms you or your family
@Codekidd it stupid to practice without hearing protection and whoever told you that should not work with guns...I have done it before out of laziness, theres no way of "getting use to it" its just as loud the 1st time you hear it as the 100th so why chance losing your hearing permanently? in a real defense situation no one will have hearing protection on and it will be loud but the adrenaline will take over it wont bother you you may lose hearing for that moment but it wont effect what you do
@cutlerylover I fully agree with you. I shot without hearing protection once by necessity. That was over 20 yrs ago. I still have this annoying ringing in my right ear. I will keep it for the rest of my life. Those "instructors" that Codekidd went to need to find a new line of work.
@cutlerylover why not have hearing protection in sd espesially home defense with those electronic earmuffs i mean i keep a pair next to my gun that way if i have time boom i am fine
i have even talked to guys who ccw silencers so they wouldnt be def when the cops show up

@BALJIT147 no im not i shoot im saying tht people should have the right to own guns because people are more reluctant to commit crimes if someone could have a gun
actually, it's a great way to carry a smaller back up gun. i used to carry a S&W Model 642 or a Keltec P3AT in my coat pocket during the winter. i would go to the range and practice shooting through my pocket, with an old coat i was throwing away anyway. it's faster than having to draw from a belt holster if it's freezing outside.
practice, practice ok , but what are you practicing for ?
If you are practicing for when 'that' situation comes and some idiot is drawing a gun/knife at you in a park /parking lot / street/in front of your house ....
then you should practice when stress level is higher imo .
Or if this was practice for another reason , just to get the feel of shooting in rain , then OK :)
but this is not practice for high stress situation.
i would love to get into balisongs, i watched most of your reviews on the different type. but im 16...and my parents would KILL me if they found i had one haha.

@illogicalmethod Just saying... Saw some peoples get scared after i gave them to shot my gun, even they were going to the shooting range several times before. As for me, the shooting without hearing protection was too much.. I didn't recover full hearing for about 3 days..... The ringing inside my head drowned out phones almost!
cool stuff, good thinking too. i've shot several times in the rain. on your glock... it appears that the extractor has been polished or replaced with a stainless one. never seen that before.
Why do people always use those HUGE ear mufflers? I understand you need to protect your ears, but come on. You won't have those on when you need too use your gun is all I'm saying. Aren't there ear plugs or something for ear protection?
@Sickshot12 My only point is theres probably a better place to drop the gun then on the wet ground. Thats just my opinion, theres no right or wrong lol
im a member of a private range here in my home town thats usually pretty packed when i go but i have a dirty little secret! the damn place is empty when it rains not a soul there! i has a shelter and everything you could ask for but for some odd reason noone goes when its inclimate weather so thats usually when i like to go because im the only one out there
Don't need to practice without hearing protection and it'd be stupid to do so........ If you destroy your hearing you might just destroy any chance of actually defending yourself. If you use the right hearing protection it won't get in the way or make that much(if any) difference.

@JPLlewellyn I have taken a few shots without muffs and goggles before when I was new to guns, once case was I was shopotign my 1911 when it was new, had all my gear then found 5 rounds in my pocket so instead of putting it all back on I just loaded up and shot, so I know what its like to shoot without it, the proble,m is its not only loud its painfull and it WILL ruin your hearing for life if you shoot constantly without ear muffs...you will go def, I love guns but I love my hearing more
@88arau lol dont make me do more gun videos, hahaa, I ahve seen them from normal heights its safe supposedly it fails after 19 feet or something, I hate to do abuse tests though this was a once in a blue moon thing...
Nice vid, you make a good point about shooting in inclement weather. Just because you can shoot on a nice sunny day doesn't mean you will be able to get rounds on target in 100+ degrees with sweat running into your eyes and sweaty hands. Or freezing cold wearing gloves and your breath obscuring your target. You should look into a Kodak Zi8. It has alot of cool features. I'm bugeting to get one for myself.
@oyarrito I went shootign on a 98 degree day it was awful, my glasses were all fogged up the sweat literaly poors into your eyes the gun is slick, its not easy at all, have yet to shoot in freezing weather, only got a few days last winter to shoot..
@cutlerylover Just going to say last year when I was up in Ohio we went on a night shoot and it was -14 ! with a lot of wind and snow...that was by far the hardest to me because your hands were so numb you couldn't even feel the rifle or pistol much less the trigger...
Very good tip! Also try, One handed shooting and drawing(both hands), shooting to cover while running, and more rapid fire because that would you really going to have to do.
@patriotsnfl1 12" I plan to shoot it with my AK and mosin when I get more ammo...at 100 yards the plate will be fine, its the upograded 550 armor steel
@dudeweirdo99 1st guhn is a glock 17 it has a 17 round mag I added a +2 baseplate to it so I have 19 rounds or 9mm, the second gun is a RIA 1911 that holds 8 rounds of 45acp
@krazy45cat thias video was posted after but filmed pre concrete test...since the concrete test I fixed the sights they look dead on, but I wont know until I shoot again
@cutlerylover Jeff everybody knows about glocks , Not real sure about the trigger you put in . But don't do that again ! You have nothing to prove to anyone . Don't let people get to ya over that crap again . Thats like jumping off the Brooklyn Bridge because some one said you wouldn't :(
You are absolutely right Jeff, you don't get to choose when something bad is going to happen, it probably won't be sunny and 70 degrees out with low humidity and no wind like when you go to the range normally. Thanks for the videos!
the way you hold your gun is wierder to me cus i hold my dads sig saur with a bend in my arm because i cant lock my arms fully and it is more comfortable it sounds dangerous but its only dangerous if i use a high caliber pistol right...please respond
@alexmini123 some will tell you how to hold your gun there are many ways to hold it safety, but it doesnt matetr what vcaliber your using just dont hold it close to your face, whatever is most com fortable for you will be fine
@illogicalmethod yeah it was quite a deal im guessin sporting goods allwe had to do was replace the spring and trigger cus it was broken but it is perfect
rain keeps that ejected brass nice and cool won't stick or burn nylon wind/rain gear very serendipitous ;) you're correct in your practice theory.now if i was only a good enough shot to duck hunt with a pistol.
How right you are. From time to time I will head out to the range in the rain for the purpose of checking how the conditions affect my firearm, my shooting, etc. I wear glasses and that is an issue. I have learned to use either rainx or a similar product to help with that. My Kahr's aggressive stippling is not liked by some but it is a tight grip in the rain and the rain has no effect on functioning. Likewise, I don't miss a chance to do either hot or cold weather drills.
"Shooting in the rain, I'm shooting in the rain..." Great vid.

krazy45cat 1 year ago
@krazy45cat thias video was posted after but filmed pre concrete test...since the concrete test I fixed the sights they look dead on, but I wont know until I shoot again
cutlerylover 1 year ago
@cutlerylover Jeff everybody knows about glocks , Not real sure about the trigger you put in . But don't do that again ! You have nothing to prove to anyone . Don't let people get to ya over that crap again . Thats like jumping off the Brooklyn Bridge because some one said you wouldn't :(
krazy45cat 1 year ago
You are absolutely right Jeff, you don't get to choose when something bad is going to happen, it probably won't be sunny and 70 degrees out with low humidity and no wind like when you go to the range normally. Thanks for the videos!

the way you hold your gun is wierder to me cus i hold my dads sig saur with a bend in my arm because i cant lock my arms fully and it is more comfortable it sounds dangerous but its only dangerous if i use a high caliber pistol right...please respond
alexmini123 1 year ago
@alexmini123 some will tell you how to hold your gun there are many ways to hold it safety, but it doesnt matetr what vcaliber your using just dont hold it close to your face, whatever is most com fortable for you will be fine

@cutlerylover and my dad bought the sig saur for about 500 dollars is that a rip off or a deal in canadian dollars
alexmini123 1 year ago
@alexmini123 Sig Sauer....for 500 Canadian? Unless it was in real bad condition, that's actually quite a deal.

rain keeps that ejected brass nice and cool won't stick or burn nylon wind/rain gear very serendipitous ;) you're correct in your practice theory.now if i was only a good enough shot to duck hunt with a pistol.

cutlerylover:
How right you are. From time to time I will head out to the range in the rain for the purpose of checking how the conditions affect my firearm, my shooting, etc. I wear glasses and that is an issue. I have learned to use either rainx or a similar product to help with that. My Kahr's aggressive stippling is not liked by some but it is a tight grip in the rain and the rain has no effect on functioning. Likewise, I don't miss a chance to do either hot or cold weather drills.
