Umm, nice try; but particle accelerators are circular (and large) because the perpendicular magnetic field causes the charged particles to go into circular motion which is easily determined by the right-hand rule.

tree6014: You're thinking of a cyclotron. The term 'particle accelerator' refers to a pretty broad range of devices.

Have you ever heard of a liniac they are particle accelerators and aren't circular.

if you can get ahold of the element known as 115 it will generate enormaous amount of energy. at 115 it is a solid and is stable. and amber in color
