@mdoesimkins No, they were getting ready to access his external jugular vein. In people who are particularly difficult sticks, or who have used up their veins, and have to have vascular access in the field to initiate emergency interventions, this is the only option outside of an Intraosseous infusion. (You wanna see something brutal, look that up.)
@Reid107 Of course one can't know the details from a short video, but naloxone can be administered intramuscularly, subcutaneously and more and more commonly, intranasally. Vein-finding problem SOLVED!
@mdoesimkins Don't forget the good ole IO route! My favorite! lol Those are all good routes of administration, but not as fast as IO or IV. So yeah, if you absolutely couldn't find one, sure give em a squirt up the ole sniffer. Whatever works. That's the name of the game!
I was with a friend one time who " fell out" on me, which is one stop away from dying. He quit breathing, I gave him cpr, then we he started breathing, it was sort of a "death rattle", about two hours later, he fully woke up, but his thought process took a long time to become normal. He had eaten 12 xanax before shooting up. It scared me so bad, that the experience helped me to decide to get clean and stay clean. I live in a very small town. Ten years ago the main drug was pot, now opiates
If you ever see anybody OD on heroin, what you need to do is try to get them up, support them, try to make them walk, move their legs. But if they pass out you need to call for an ambulance and give them "breath of life" until the ambulance arrives with narcanti antidote.: )
39tommyboy I agree with you man. I myself was addicted to oxycontin for about a year. But I finley got help at a suboxone clinic. Suboxone has changed and saved my life. I'm so thinkful for subs. They really do work. If anyone would just give it a chance. I admit that the first couple days are rough. But then it's smooth from then on out.
what people dont understand is when shooting heroin you never know how strong the dose is. all heroin is cut down to a small percentage of about ten percent or less. thats how strong it is. and we will start seeing a lot more deaths because they changed oxycontin so now you cannot abuse it anymore. so instead of kids getting help to get off of it. they will go to heroin for the same drug effect. watch and see the death toll rise. godbless anybody who is trying to get help to get clean.
@thatflame people do drugs for a reason.... theyre designed to be liked. their function is to affect dopamine and other chemicals in your brain in a way that makes you feel great. i guarantee if you ever did heroin, you would love it too. thats why i say, ill hate heroin until the day it gets into my veins. Thats why you stay away from hard drugs, because youre obviously going to enjoy them. but theres no need to be a dick man, have some compassion for your fellow human beings.
@thatflame adding "in the most polite way" doesnt make it polite... and i was just trying to make a point. if i would have viewed your comment 3 months ago i would have said it then. do you not like thinking back as far as 3 months, or what?
yeah , i'm sure he did, because they use Naltrexone to bring you out of OD which puts an addict right into Withdrawals instantly.... so he would have felt like hell.
