06 Tiburon SE V6 vs 03 Tiburon GT V6

2 ANYONE THAT HAS A TIBURON...... THE "MISSED SHIFT" WAS NOT THE DRIVERS FAULT. THE CLUTCH SLIPPED. IT IS CAUSED BY A PROBLEM ON HYUNDAIS CLUCH. THE FIX IS 2 REMOVE THE DELAY VALVE IN THE CLUTCH SLAVE CYLINDER. THIS SPRING AND A NUT HAS CAUSED THESE CARS MANY CLUTCH PROBLEMS AND CAUSE THESE CLUTCHES TO BURN OUT REALLY QUICK (ex. 30000 miles). ONCE U REMOVE THIS BLEED THE CLUTCH LINE. AFTER DAT MAKE SURE YOUR CLUTCH AND FLYWHEEL IS GOOD. IF NOT, FIX IT THEN U SHOULD HAVE A GOOD LONG LIVIN CLUTCH

I just bought my second tiburon :) Why is it that a lot of people that have never owned one hate them. You really have to drive one to see how good they are. I am not saying they are insanely fast but they are fun cars. I could of bought faster cars but these cars are just really nice

well manual is better than auto, sometimes you might fuck up, like wrong gear specially in short shift, but you can develop your rpms better with a manual.

dude the se is not the only 6 speed. i have an 03 tib gt thats a 6 speed. ur retardid. so the se is no faster. its just the newer models are se. and there are plenty of different ratios sure but not all are allways setup like 4 speed auto and 5 speed many. the 2.0s might be 5 speed many but i have never had one so i wouldnt know.

I've had the six speed 03 (GS-R) and the 2008 GS (five speed).

The GS-R was the only six-speed in 2003 and the SE was a four banger back then. Any year after that they put the v-6 in the SE and in 05 (or 04?) came out with a 'Tuscani' version that had a six speed as well. Any stock badged 'GT' Tiburon is a five-speed (from 03 to 06)

If you have a six speed '03, it's a GS-R! If I were you I'd look into getting a GS-R badge my friend! Great car, that.

When you try to ham-fist it into the gear it happens. It's stupid, but it happens. They hold on the the stick hard as hell and jam it into the forks instead. 1st-2nd was a bad shift as well - you can hear he was on the gas too quick or off the clutch too late.

SE is the highest tier of the Tiburon, coming only with a manual transmission, and is the only one that comes with 6 gears. The GT comes in a 4 speed automatic or 5 speed manual. This GT is the 4 speed automatic. I have a 2008 SE.

All V6 Tiburon engines are the same. The only thing that's different is the gearbox. So for you, it's down to whether you want a 5 speed or 6 speed gearbox.

Tiburons are suuuuuper slow stock, They look fast, but they aren't, so if you wanna win races, with little or no work done, buy a different car, but, I still love my 05gtv6 :P

If you want instant satisfaction, I would reccomend an old camaro or a slightly high mileage srt-4, but half the fun of having a fast car is the time and work it takes to get there

yea I was thinkin about the srt-4. Its more along the lines of my kinda style, small powerful car. IM probley not gonna have the option to do any engine mods because Buffalo has almost no performance shops and if it does its for american muscles.

but what i hate is that people think the tiburon is the lamest car in history cause they think hyundai breaks down easily, and that was back then, but now and days, they're kicking everyones ass. Cause they have good quality, performance is decent, and the price beats anything, especially used cars that are like two years older than a new hyundai. The tiburon is like the nicest car you'll ever find, only the 05 model. its slow, yet nice looks in and out. and you can feel where speed

I've had both transmissions and, I can assure you, the six-speed is a much quicker car. I was (with merely an aftermarket intake) running my 0-60 over half-second quicker and a full second faster than the automatics. The six speed was also better on gas, and second gear was a whole lot more fun to shift to from 1st.

Biggest thing was you find yourself skipping gears in the six speed like 1st -> 2nd -> 4th -> 6th or even without 1st. Second gear starts are also easier in the six speed.

Well, the GS-R in '03 was a 'higher up' car. And the Tuscani was more pricey as well in other years. SE was the price package where you get the v6 paired with the six-speed but usually not with the infinity sound system or (I think) the heated seats.

i dont people. i had an 03 tibby GT V6 5 speed, and i raced a 6 speed who had a hell of alot more done then i did, and i smoked his ass from the start. the tibby's max power is 6 grand and thats what the guy i was racing was shifting at. i took first gear up to 6,500 rpms, and then 2nd, 3rd, and 4th at about 6,200 rpms. i had no problem stayn in front. and my 0-60 was 6.9 secs and my 1/4 mile was 15.23 secs. and for a V6 with hardly anything done to it. thats not bad.

The SE gets a 6spd, but that 6spd is also available on the GT.

The gearing od the 6spd is sooooo much shorter that you fall in and out of your powerband retardley quickly.

I have an 03 GT with a 6spd and know just how weak that gearing is.

The suspension is the exact same on all Tibs, McPherson struts and Hyundai springs that have the same ride setting and are just as stiff as the other.

Tiburon's are slow.... end of story.
