OMG I have been after this song for yeeeeeeeeeeears, and finally I have just downloaded it, it's taken me over 25 years!! thank you, thank you, thank you!!!!!!!
By the way, that is a great download site, they even gave me 30 cents for joining, so I got Ahead of the game for free!!!
Cool! I’ve been enjoying the Movies' Arista LP, had no idea there was any non-album material out there! This would make a great bonus track for a CD reissue!
I hunted for this song for ages, and I finally just tonight found a site where it's available for download as an MP3. They have the single version, without the children singing at the beginning or the sound effect of Dick's car door slamming at the end. It's on a site called mp3va-dot-com. They've got The Movies' entire album on there, plus this, although it is taken from vinyl. Just search for The Movies in Artists and you'll find it.
@Baskingshark Excellent! Thanks for sharing this information. The mp3va-dot-com (replace the -dot- with erm, a .) is a Legal download site for anybody with concerns.
@StepmothersTeeth Yes - sorry, forgot to mention, it's totally legal, tracks are 15 cents each. And I promise I'm not an adbot spamming ads for that site either!
does anybody have an mp3 of this song? I've searched the internet, i tunes, eBay, i can't find anything. if you do, i'd love it if you could e-mail it to me at kenlip96@gmail.com.
This was a great movie: lots of memorable scenes with Jane and George. Some very biting satire of the "class" system and what money means to "making it" in society. * Jane pretending that she has asked for it when the landscapers repossessed her lawn ;) * Them having champagne and roast when the food stamp rep came to visit. I always loved this opening theme... it was very memorable with the schoolbook graphic. "Can you remember when getting up was easy and we could live on wax and gum?"
i loved the movie but i was crazy for this song and always liked it. BTW met ed mcmahon once and mentioned the line from the movie - "it stinks Dick. It stinks on ice..." he thot I was crazy hahahaha
@gaikinger1 haha! I felt the same when I eventually found it, then I thought I'd upload it here on Youtube in case somebody else felt the same way - It's a good thing I did! Glad you enjoy :)
Thank you for posting this. Even though my memory is faulty in my old age, I have never forgotten the title of this song or the name of the group. I remember staying after the movie to watch the credits so I could by the "record" but never, ever finding it. :(
Great Comment! Thank you for watching/listening, this is such a good song it took me ages to track it down even in this advanced world of digital technology so I can only imagine how difficult it was to find it in the 'real world' in the 70's. I'm glad it was worth the wait :)
This is a great movie song, and one of my favorites. I have been looking for it forever. Thanks so much for posting it. Also agree that the original movie was much better than the remake. A 70's classic.
I love this song also. This song is hard to find anymore. Has a great beat to it. Never will see the remake of Fun with Dick and Jane. Remakes aren't all that great.

I did think this movie was far superior to the Jim Carey movie.
