  • What's with GM, first you kill Pontiac..ok you have Buick, lets use them to try and lure young people to buy them. I'm sorry a 2.0L engine does not scream power to me. You cant tell me you can't improve gas mileage on your old proven V6 or V8 engines. Sad...and especially for $40 grand!! Come on..

  • 15.2?? That is pretty slow..

  • That thing is embarrassing, it is no muscle car

Can ya run it on rocket fuel? NO

What happened GM, where's the iron?

Make a real car please !!!

  • so the sc 3800 regal was .2 seconds faster @ 0-60 in 6.6 sec! with a long geared tranny and no manual?

i cant even imagine what it would have been like with a stick.

the LT1 roadmaster was 0-60 in 7.0 an that car was 2 tons!

  • I really think that GM should make a buick based off of the Camaro; use the same chassis, some of the same panels, but all together a different look. Place the same V6 from the Camaro, expect with a turbo, paint it black, and call it the Grand National! Would love to see that!

  • Did you say 15.2 1/4 mile? This car has 270hp, that is slow

  • What happen to the v8's

  • So Very Sad.. :(

My old 1997 Regal GS ran 14.4@98 stock.

This is a great looking car... too bad it cant keep up to a new POS chrysler 200 V6...

  • @DruidB19 Those old Bucks with the SC 3800 were fast and the engines were torquey. If only they had a 5 speed automatic at the time vs that long geared 4 speed the performance would have been even better. I always liked those older Buicks, comfy and quiet but they had some balls too.

  • @7477238 or a proper 5 speed manual. the 3800 supercharged regals were nice.

  • 15.2 1/4 mile??? :-(

  • ROCKAUTO. ROCKS!!!!

  • Buick didn't want to dilute the GS so they took an OPC and wasted money to remove the AWD system and the turbo 6.

  • You know how you can tell the Regal GS has european roots? Just look at the speedo.......get it? Speedo.

  • End of the year discounts at the dealer, will prove the true value of this car,15.20 in the quarter,0-60 in 6.8 seconds, and 40,000 dollars WOW,i aint impress.

  • Im just not impress, with buick regal gs price, cause I know that the car will be worth only 25,000 dollars by SEPT.Dont get me wrong,I like the car looks, just not the price.the rims are 19inch by the way.I was looking for a ride for my girl.I only will invest in a corvette convertible, when you go in 40thousand range.I just really like american muscle cars,to be truthful.

  • pause at 3:01 for seirousness

  • speedo (x

  • @bigxsmoke1

When they were on public television it was viewers like u.

  • @:34 those r Boss 302 gauges

  • I read 6.1 0-60, probably more accurate, really makes this 4 banger quite the sleeper

  • I would love to take her out dinner. Maybe a stroll along the beach.

  • WTF is rock auto? i thought it was viewers like you :(

  • I like it..

  • Brought mine home yesterday. I'm grinnin' from ear to ear. Steering is wicked and braking is intense. Love all the haters that haven't even been in the same city with one. Geniuses all of you. Have you driven this car? It's wrong how right this car feels. In town today, ducking in and out of traffic, feeling the boost do it's thing, hearing the hiss. Seriously. This car is a winner. Let the losers laugh.

  • @tdrommond Congrats on your car. I don't settle for FWD.

  • @Konformation07 - I normally wouldn't either, but one drive convinced me to reconsider. Drive it before you write it off.

  • @tdrommond I'll drive it but I've already wrote it off. I don't settle for FWD. I don't are how good it is. It may impress me but that's because my expectations will be pretty low.

  • @tdrommond i currently drive a 99' bmw 323i . In the next year I want to upgrade to a newer car. Do you think the regal can compare to bmw at all?

  • @michaelssocks - I had a '96 328 cabrio and this is head and shoulders above it. Fit and finish is better, dash lighting and accessories look nicer than current 325. I've owned several BMWs and a couple M-Bs. This car is on the same lap with any of them

  • @tdrommond ya ive been doing some more research and finding good things. I'm also waiting for a dry day to go test drive one. thanks for the info man

  • 270hp and 295lb-ft and only 6.8 to 60?

  • yall know the Grand National is just laughing at this car, and its big brother the GNX

  • @markmarshall39 so true

  • oh you mean a rebadged opel insignia

  • not worth it,$38,000.looks nice but I would wait one year later, and get the car for $22,000-$24,000.

  • @ls1man1 So, what else would you buy that has at least 270hp/295 lbft of torque, Brembo Brakes, 300+ watt Harmon Kardon Surround Sound, Push-button start, bad-ass 20" polished alloys with fat P-zeros, 6-speed manual gearbox, leather, sunroof, navigation and a 4 year/50k B-to-B warranty for under $40,000? I'm all ears.

  • Freakin buick man. They were on top of the world in 1970 with the GSX and in 1987 with the GNX. Now they're just another meh brand. They need to make a turbo sport coupe with 300+ horsepower and name it like the GRX or something.

  • Thank goodness it was tooled in Europe not from China like I've seen somewhere few years back. The front end reminds me of a valrus with big fangs. Now I'm back with GM.

  • they killed pontiac for this?? p.s whats the button on the shifter?

  • @codeeLS6 - there's no button on the shifter. There's a release lever that lets you into the reverse gate

  • Hmm, in germany the car is called Insignia OPC, but it has a 2.8 l V6 Turbo with 325 hp and AWD.

  • @t3chn0m0

i know right? its pretty much gonna be competing with the ford fusion, dodge avenger, and a slew of other midsized sedans with more power. they should've started with this setup and had the awd opc setup as the GS.

  • @nezerac - OPC too heavy and poor mpgs with AWD and V-6. US CAFE standards, don't you know?

  • Too heavy.

  • its nice to see the target audience under 90 years old

  • Now old people can get to church a bit faster...

  • @lesher27 Narr, you're thinking of the Lincoln Towncar.

  • @lesher27

"Most" old people aren't going to drive a GS version of this new regal unless they're going through a late life crisis LOL. The Lacrosse CXL or maybe even the CXS would be more to their liking if going this route. This Regal GS will be selling to people mainly in their 30's, 40's and some in their 50's for the most part.

  • @IrishChris1979 I don't know about that, I've seen a lot of old people with GTP & GXP trim Pontiac's. And I wonder why. I pulled up to a car very similar to mine(2000 GP GTP) the only difference I could see is the paint was purple wher as mine is black, being driven by a my who looked to be in his 80's. A man in his early 20's and a man in his 80's driving the same car. Even funnier is I was the one who pulled away from the light calmly.

  • @SMGMP7A1

Oh yeah I've seen stuff like that too, it's just not very often. Hey if you're in your 70's or 80's+ and you drive a cool younger persons car, more power to ya! ;) I hope I'm a hip old man one day ha ha.

  • @SMGMP7A1

I wasn't meaning you as the old man when I said you're... I mean in general LOL. I'm sure you knew what I meant though.

  • @IrishChris1979 50s isn't old?

  • @kylesvt720

I said some in their 50's. My brother is 44 and he doesn't look a day over 30. He has friends that are in their late 40's & early 50's. They all play ultimate frisbee together & their team won the state championship in last year. These guys scrimmage against the college teams and beat them all the time. If you saw how fast and athletic these guys are, you wouldn't think 50 was old. You can look up "ultimate frisbee" on youtube to see what it's about if you want. Awesome game :)

  • @IrishChris1979 I'm 19 about to join the Air Force and I plan to get one after Basic.

  • @GMdrivingMOPARguy its shit dude ure better off getting a old grand national which would stop nthe shit out of this thing stock

  • @xdavstratx I would love to have a Grand National but not for a daily driver. This Regal is a nice, comfortable, and economical driver that you can have some fun with when you want to, not a hot rod. If i was going to get a brand new car based only on performance I would get the 2013 GT500

  • $35,310 @_@

  • gorgeous car. If I could afford one I would seriously take a look. Then get an aftermarket tune

  • I looked at this car and it helped me decide on buying the Sonata 2.0t. Thanks Buick.

  • Looks nice, but agree if you can afford this car, you could afford a boosted V6 not V4. Should be 300+ and AWD. You can still get 20+mpg on a boosted V6

    BRING BACK THE SY/TY!!!

  • @MrShockandAww might want to look into that "V4' you mention. No such engine. Inline 4

  • why is everything eco-friendly now? that car should at least have a twin-turbo v6 if they are going to call it a "sports sedan" BMW has the idea, sorry buick you lose

  • Doesn't matter...cant afford it anyway =(

  • 35k for something that takes a weekend 2 git from 0-60?

  • It's really an Opel Insignia OPC or a Vauxhall Insignia VXR

  • ooooohhhhhhhh. my new first car

    GGGGGOOOOOOO BBBBBBUUUUUUUIIIICCCCCKKKKK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • The numbers are lame. My 1992 Taurus SHO (R.I.P) with 220hp/200lbs of torque could do 0-60 in 6.5 sec and 1/4 mile in 15 sec.

  • @blowersho but im sure you can't pull .90g on the skidpad or brake 70-0 in 160 ft. those figures are better than a cadillac cts-v

  • @maddog24637 Done did it and the braking numbers were shockingly short. On hot tires and a race tarmac surface, it will pull every bit of .92 according to my g-shock. I quit before the tires did. They are gooey at temp. and still had a little more complaining to do before they broke free.

  • @blowersho Very true but considering the two cars are separated by twenty years of technology the numbers are pathetic and the sound under full throttle can never compare to the old Yamaha built master piece.

  • @blowersho Of course they were fast. After all the trim fell off, the interior wasted away, the headliner was ripped out after it drooped, it was lighter

  • Nice I just hope they come out with a V6 and a V8 would be suicidal

  • The old one with the supercharged engine is better.

  • old people car

  • worth it just for the rims. sexy. ps i feel like im in the 50's when listening to this guy speak, and that's not a good thing.

  • lol the old GS L67 was just as fast (7.0sec to 60) and got what like 18city 28hwy?? And has less hp and tq....the old gs was a true sleeper....anyone who says otherwise doesn't know shit....but no one is going to like up for a "performance sedan" that only does a 0-60 of just 6.8 seconds. C'mon buick your BRAND NEW GS model is only squeezing out .2 seconds of extra performance than the old one and that my friends is just sad after more than 10 years later.

  • @tbirdsport302 Motor trend got 6.3 out of it. I don't know what these people were doing. 6.3 is actually half way respectable.

  • 19/27 for a inline 4? wow good job....dumbasses

  • OK, don't give me the it's an Opel crap, I know. Its badged as a Buick and that's all that matters for the sake of the point I'm about to make. I love how when ever American car is quicker than an Import, everyone yells, So what the import handles better and has a better interior. Now that an American car does just as good if not better in some cases. They are yelling, well it's like .3 seconds slower than the import, Blah blah blah, F**king Hippocrates!

  • @BoberMcBoberson Oh and MW's driver must have sucked, because Motor Trend got a 0-60 of 6.3 and a 1/4 mile of 14.9. I wouldn't mention that but, A half a second seems to be a pretty big deal now.

  • I really like it, but for it to be a real player it needs to be 400lbs lighter or 40hp more. 270hp is sub par to most competitors. Torque is good, but it needs to be better than this. The v6 Genesis is still more powerful and gets decent gas milage, the cost is even cheaper. I like it... but wish it would have been a little bit mroe omph! Make it a 2.4L-T

  • @biscuitninja it's more than stats. It's about application. I've driven the Impala SS with the big 5.3 V8 and lots more hp. It can't get it to the ground without torque steering into a ditch. The Genesis will sit and roast it's tires. A used Pontiac G8 GT would be a better choice than the Genesis. This car applies the power to the ground and launches in a straight line. No torque steer.

  • okay, it took me a while, but I was able to masturbate to this video.

  • when i think of Buick, I think of the regal gnx

  • If I wanted a german car I'd buy a german car, but I want an American car, thats why I liked Buicks... not anymore, I think I'll buy a Chrylser

  • @1992RivieraRadio Which is now Italian...

  • i dont understand why its so slow...

  • Gm should kill the brand, its a waist of time. What's the avg age of a Buick driver 65? The interior would have looked modern 10 years ago. Would anyone in there right mind buy this car over an Audi a4?

  • Interesting, the speed problem is nothing a flash couldn't fix. The handling and braking numbers are good, and to me that's really what matters most.

  • 0-60 in 6.8s?? SLOW!!

  • @hong99sm Not bad for a 2.0 L4 though.

  • @peculiarmadman Not really, considering the price of the car and the fact that a Hyundai Sonata 2.0T would smoke this car.

  • @hong99sm Good point, but the GS "smokes" the Sonata in the slalom, skidpad and 60-0 statistics plus the Sonata doesn't even offer a stick. I'll agree the Sonata is a nice car, and yes the GS is $10,000 more, but when you consider the front drive premium sedans you could buy for that money (ES350, TL, MKZ etc) it competes pretty well. And finally GM sells a Buick (cough cough...Opel) that doesn't handle like a semi in the twisties.

  • @peculiarmadman Well, sure, but wearing wider rubber on 19's will make a lot of cars put up good slalom and skidpad numbers. I just don't see the appeal of a "sporty" FWD Buick with a manual that costs close to $40k. For that price, why not just get a real sports sedan like an A4, 325i, G37, or even a Lexus IS?

  • Hopefully people will get past the name, like they did with the CTS!

  • Cool car... Unfortunately not so cool brand name.

  • I love it!

  • This isn't impressive.

  • Wow that's fucking slow for those numbers.

  • this car just screams ricer... all flash but doesn't deliver on performance.

  • Just build a new GNX with rear wheel drive and a hyper-boost turbo motor that will "melt" your brain. You can do it Buick.

  • This car shares alot with the SAAB 9-3 and 9-5. The powertrain is from Germany and is a higher output version of what's used in the 9-3. Typical GM badge engineering..

  • Why not a V6 Turbo to make this car as bad ass as it looks. Why when GM brings one of its Opel models over it NEVER does it right. ie: catera.

  • @shocktrooper1000 - two words: fuel economy.

  • Nice Opel

  • And it's not AWD!!!!! Hell no GM y'all really messed up!!!!!!!!

  • terrible move by GM not to bring the AWD here

  • Oh a Opel.

  • Ugly

  • I'm still upset that the AWD system isn't offered on the Regal, but I still love it. It definitely needs to be quicker though, 6.8 sec to 60 isn't any better than my Grand Prix GTP.

  • Yes! Manual tranny , a huge plus for that car .

  • When I think of Buick, I think of old people.

  • @66soad good for you

  • @66soad really? I think of funerals

  • @66soad The you are too young to remember they used to be fast cars. The fastest car from the muscle car era was a Buick...

  • @kylesvt720 I am quite aware of that. But like you said, they use to be fast cars.

  • @66soad Grand national? Wildcat? SKYlark gsx? . Are u a car favoring bi-troll or a car enthusiast.

  • @reoxex It doesn't matter if I'm a car enthusiast or not, Buick isn't what it use to be. Look at all the shitty cars they came with in the 90's and early 2000's. Oh, and this one is an Opel.

  • nice opel.

  • @aconfusedazn I feel like GM has been steeling designs of other cars for a long time. Am i right??

  • @wsmarines Actually Opel a majority-stake subsidiary of the American General Motors Corporation since the late 1920s.

  • @aconfusedazn whats an opel? is it like a vauxhall?

  • echo tech...

  • hmmmmm.lets see. SLOW

  • 6.8 0-60???.. o c'mon, did you dare call this a sporty sedan, what are you thinking GM??? i'm sure you could find something more for the Regal... this is a magnificent car, and then there, you blew it again...

  • Where's the Insignia OPC's 325 bhp V6 and four wheel drive?

  • @sekopiski Left over in Europe... GM said that if they were to bring it to the states, it'd be too heavy, have a gas guzzler tax, and would likely cost over $50k... they would bring it over if they felt there was enough of a market for it.

  • This Ecotec Turbo 1-4 with 270 hp has more horsepower than V-6s.

  • @76carmel Some V6`s. I can think of many n/a v6`s with over 300hp

  • @Lambo6fo

From what I know is this... the V6s that don't exceed 300 hp, Toyota's V6 for passenger vehicles (Camry, Avalon, Sienna, RAV4) - max hp 270hp. Honda's V-6 is 271 hp (Accord). Chrysler's Pentastar V-6 is 283 hp for the vans, 200, Avenger, and Wrangler; and 290 hp for the Grand Cherokee, 300, and Charger.

Most of the 300 hp V6 or I-6 are ususally the German luxury vehicles; mainly BMW, Mercedes, and Audi (who is really shaking the luxury auto world right now).

  • Yes, you can think of many vehicles with V6's over 300 hp; including another Buick product -- the LaCrosse which lightened the engine weight which went from 280 hp to 303 hp; on par with Cadillacs. Most of those engines are in the luxury line. Buick straddles upscale and luxury. I wish this Regal had stuff like AWD, which is still in the works from what I hear, a back-up camera, and I'll wait for the 6-speed auto with paddle shifters. I'd take the LaCrosse which has an equal price point.

  • Way to go Buick. Welcome back.

  • I still rather have the 3800 supercharged V6 even though its a older design!!!!

  • Like it but put a shit of an engine in it!!!!! Come on GM y'all are really SUCKING right now!!!!! Can't wait to see how much they screw up the impala in a few years...... As if the current one isn't shitty enough!!

  • V-6 or GO HOME!!!!

  • Opel Insignia. FGP Germany F40-6 six-speed manual or Aisin AF-40 (G2) six-speed automatic transmission. German engineering. Assembly China: November 2008 - Present (Shanghai General Motors)

Germany: 2009-February 2011 (Opel Rüsselsheim Assembly)

Canada: Oshawa, Ontario February 2011 - Present (General Motors Canada Oshawa Car Assembly) Engine and Trans is not American.. how nice GM
