  • I think Bream just tries to impress with everything he does. Segovia seems (to me) to play much more emotionally and musically satisfying overall, while Bream seems to overwhelm me with technicality.

  • @SqueezeMyLemonBabe We are perfectly opposite.

I thought Segovia always tried to impress with everything he did. Even his posturing onstage was over the top.

Bream seems (to me) to play much more emotionally and musically satisfying overall.... but Segovia was never as impressive technically though, so we differ there also

  • I like his tune but, its way to fast, speed ruins sonata

  • Bream is godlike!

  • the more i hear bream, the more i love his playing. interesting to compare this version with the video of segovia playing this piece. bream plays it considerably faster. i wonder if it has anything to do with segovia being about 85 in the video though lol. also interesting are the different emotions elicited from the respective guitarists through their interpretations.

  • Sonata K.11 (L.352)

  • Great Julian Bream.
