More basics in hand drumming by Powers, easy to follow but not for beginners, this is to help you gain more skills & rhythms once you have the basic 3 notes down. I'd call this beginners part two, not intermediate but once you learn these you'll be ready for intermediate. Using Djembe African drum, but can apply to any hand drums.

It is easy to be a critic. BUT what you are doing here is right on ! These fools are sying this isn't Kuku but it is. I've been studying with teachers from Cassamance and these are some of the same parts I've been taught. YOU FOOLS ! LISTEN TO WHAT HE SAYS IN THE FIRST 20 SECONDS. Different teachers teach different patterns. Djembe is not that cut and dry. He certainly isn't playing blah, blah,blah.

seems te be a conga player, this is no djembé player, no techniques, not the right rrhytm patterns.. my advice to Mark ; stay with the things you know or take some proper lessons!

good job.. you need to take your hands off the slap as soon as possible in order to get that sharp sound.. i love it..

Not traditional or ballet parts for kuku. Better to check videos of W. African drummers for this.

Hopelessly bad and inept technique. This person has no clue as to how to play a djembe.

There is no indication of beat in the video so people don't know how the parts fit into the bar.

Part 1 is not a traditional Kuku part. The traditional version doesn't have the pick-up bass. Part 2 is not a traditional Kuku part either. Only the "variation" is. Part 4 is also not a traditional Kuku part. It belongs with Kassa (among others) instead.

Best find a teacher who knows what he is doing.
