I have loved this song ever since I first saw this anime in 1995. All these years later, and I feel that this love has grown even stronger. Maybe it's partly the story, but I think it's more because I always imagine Deedlit singing this. And Akino Arai's voice, as well as Sherry's voice, in my opinion capture Deedlit's essence and spirit. Because these are so pure, the lyrics and melody go straight to the heart.

Do a serach for "akino arai adesso e fortuna" and you'll get Akino Arai's Japanese version. I personally like her voice better than Sherry's.

In case anyone was interested in knowing, Akino Arai also composed and wrote the lyrics of this song as well as the inserted Japanese version. They just had Sherry sing the inserted version.

I hate to say this but Sherry didn't sing this version. She sang the Japanese one that was inserted into the anime, but AKINO ARAI sang this English one.

Also, I really don't understand why people are arguing about this one and Lisa De Simone's version. They're both great, each in its own way. Lisa's is more powerful but Akino's version is more soft and romantic.

You are totally right. I have the original CD and it clearly stated "新居昭乃". I mixed up Sherry and Akino Arai. Duh. What a Japanese I am. haha

Must agree with baggys, Lisa De Simone's version is way better. Sang with more passion and power, sadly that version is hard to come by.

Too long. Also I think they used an english singer for the US version. This singer has a bit of an accent so that may have been why they did not include her version, though I agree it's a lot better and her voice is much more beautiful.

Her english is really good. I like this version just as much as the other english one. I to believe this is the only true english version though.

Why do you believe this is the only true english version? That doesn't make any sense to me, I think Lisa De Simone has a superior voice, this female is singing the English version hardly any different from how she would sing in Japanese, you should be able to hear Lisa do more than this. I like the romantic lyrics and all, but this version is so much more boring to me. I even like Lisa's version more than the japanese, it's just a shame I can't find the place to buy her versions.
