  • HOLY shit a 1:13 avarage damn I wonder what his 2k is

  • Comment removed

  • 1:15 is the world record i believe so he still got a little to do, brilliant effort

  • @wpsmith62 m8 i think he got 1:13.7. I think your were looking at the split of his last stroke :p

  • @wpsmith62 His time was 1:13.7 so that would be faster than 1:15.

  • Great time but the chain was going crazy...floppy chain=bad form

  • @GuidoOnWeels The guy is probably rowing at 45+ strokes per minute. At that rate, the chain is bound to flop around a bit. It's hard to row perfectly at that rate and intensity, but I'd say his form is pretty decent.

  • @FlyFoxSlyStyle Shut up that would be about 4 minutes better than the world record.

  • Comment removed

  • im 12 and can do a 2k in 60 seconds, is that gud??

  • @FlyFoxSlyStyle no u cant

  • @MrTerrorTurtle obviously not

  • @FlyFoxSlyStyle That would make you the best erger in the world by about 4 minutes and 40 seconds (give or take). Naturally I am somewhat skeptical. Unless you can erg faster than a motor vehicle then I think you may have your facts incorrect.

  • My best 1:24.3 and I am only 14

  • id love to see him try that in a boat!

  • @poc14k he's in the austrian national team... not saying he could get that exact score in a boat but he's not just one of those muscleheads who gets a big erg but can't move a boat.

  • love the dramatic music in the background.. is that "O Fortuna"?

  • this erg have been raped

  • @775marco anal...

  • You're a cheater. The erg is against the wall, so the air is trapped inside spinning the fan. Therefore you have additional power. I'm sure you can pull a good 500m erg, but that's plain cheating..

  • @kezzy234 Doesn't that just artificially change the drag factor? I mean, if you put a tshirt over the whole flywheel you won't be able to sustain fast splits (although I am aware of those "0:49 world record split blah" videos). Am I wrong?

  • @jonostan not im pretty sure that it lets less air in the fan so it spins faster with less effort

  • @kezzy234 That will be shown on the "Display drag factor" when hes setting to 120. Oh and by the way having a lower drag only makes it harder at that speed, drag works like a gear ratio on an erg. The only time that a lower drag will get you a lower split in a sprint is if you entirely cover the fan so like 80% of the air is staying inside it..

  • Edit your title. It's not world record.

  • @RobinEH94 No it is. 1:13.7 totally is

  • Its not the world record but it is STUPIDLY FAST. I worked for three years to get an Erg time of 1:30.1, but that is just INSANE.

  • @sagaciospianoman I worked a month to get 1.28.6...

  • For me this erg merit a medal for war injuries

  • Comment removed

  • that is actually his house. no bed. no kitchen. just ergs and wood.

  • that hurt to watch

  • I hope that erg was 18

  • @mbskiking yeah he definitely raped that poor machine.

    crazy!

  • I'm in the choir singing this song! Go, Carmina Burana.

  • haha, eat that shit erg!

  • He punishes the ERG on this one.

  • Counting strokes: 57 for the piece, so a 46.4 stroke rating. Impressive work.

  • great rowing mr.machine !!!!

  • I knew that it was going to be fast when I saw that the video was only 1 minute and 29 seconds long!

  • Proximity to the wall has no effect on the time splits. At best, it would decrease the air flow and lower the resistance somewhat, but even then it would just mean that the rower would have to increase his strokes. It would be like pulling more strokes per minute at a 1 damper setting versus pulling less strokes per minute at a 10 damper setting. Either which way, the amount of work done is exactly the same.

  • I do 2' 34 and I'm estatic!! But then again I'm a poor old middle aged woman!!

  • The egometer is to near at the wall..so the air cant roated, thats why hes so fast!

  • @CallMeHakan do you not think its against the wall so that he doesnt slide back and forth on the wooden floor, and you have to cover more than one little part of the erg fan cage to have an effect on the splits :) get your facts right mate just becasue you want do it

  • I'm not gay, but he has a big strong sexy body.

  • His time was 1:13.7. 1:18 is simply what the erg estimated the split to continue to be based on the power of his last stroke, which wouldn't be as powerful because he's basically stopped. Learn what split actually means.

  • This guy is sick, plain and simple. Look at his freakin leg drive dude, it's insane!

  • How is this a bogus attempt? The vents being closed off or blocked is no different than setting the damper at a really low setting where the vents are closed off, which is completely acceptable. If there is not as much air resistance, then the rower just has to row faster and harder, versus slower and heavier pulls. Either way, the amount of work measured by the monitor is the same. Looks completely legit to me, but would love to debate this with an expert. Opinions?

  • @eazye29 actually if you cover the fan the computer will get confused, try it put a towel over the erg and you can usually get sub 1 min splits and eventually the screen will come up with an error. Im not sure you can gain any advantage from it as it usually throws a fit before you can but its best to put ergs away from anything that my change the mass flow inlet just to be sure theres no debate.

  • the erg threw up this time

  • the human body can do crazy things when you don't jack it for a month

  • look at his head every stroke .. hahhah

  • hah nevermind. it showed it at the end.

    holy shit. 1:13? that's crazy.

  • i wanna know his split time

    it's prob. like 1:20

  • @ilovejohnnyandjeremy your a dumbass when you look at the end his final split was 1: 18 so clearly his split couldn't have been 1:20

  • Fuck yeah. Aussie pride

  • @maxitaxi11 he is austrian

  • You can go faster. Look me up on google Xeno rowing coach. I won the Olympics in sculling. I can help with technique and training program.

  • am i th only one who is now terrified of th austrians? :D

  • doesn't count - erg too close to the wall reduces the amount of resistance. bogus attempt. have to do it with nothing close to the vents

  • @luizcarmargo

Is what your saying for real? I row away from any walls, but it being close to a wall effects the vents?

  • @BrittonUK a 2:00 is averaged at 500M. So it's 2 mins for every 500M. so it's 12 500M's and 2 mins per piece so thats around 24-25 mins depending on drops in rates and increases in the rates.

  • That guy was definately on steroids. not a complement but just me pointing it out.

  • Ugh, doing a 6k test tomorrow. I gotta pull a 2:00 flat to keep my coach happy. He wants me under 2:00 though. That's 25 mins of straight erging though :'(

  • @TheMummy516 erm... a 6k at 2:00 is 12 minutes though.

  • @BrittonUK a 6k at 2:00 is 24min.

  • I remember when i pulled 1:13 oh wait.....

  • i would love to see u row coastal, beacuse all your are dointg there is turning the boye

    slowest 500m i ever seen

  • Stroke rate is high... stroke length could be longer, smoother...

  • its good but its not world record worthy

  • He reminds me of the Soviet guy from Rocky (based on looks).

  • which one gets the oil hahaha

  • Comment removed

  • he is loosing so much pressure cause the fan is being sufficated by the wall

  • sehr nice berni :-)

  • cool i like it

  • What is this damper there?

  • looks like 7-8

  • I wouldn't have believed it if I didn't see it with my own eyes. This is beyond incredible. You truly are a machine. I have a video on here of me rowing 500 m. I did it in 1:17.6 so I am one of the few people that truly understand what you have done here. This is not human - this is a MACHINE! I would love to know what you did to train yourself for this. My video is the one titled "500 meter row - Concept 2" by kmunson007. Congratulations on this incredible accomplishment.

  • @kmunson007 dude your fucking technique blows in your vid dude, im 17 and mine is a lot better the yours

  • @absegamifrosh8 Your awesomeness is undeniable.

  • @kmunson007 thank you.

  • @kmunson007 If you want to know what rowers really train for, do a 2,000 piece. try to beat mine My time was a 6:28 and im 165 pounds and 17 years old.

  • @bjbjbzz my mate got 6.10, record for our league

  • @Lukeyboi14 Damn, i know a 16 year old with a 6:11, and he's only a junior in high school.

  • @bjbjbzz ya but how tall is he and how much does he weigh?

  • @bjbjbzz I beat that with a 6:27 at 177 pounds last year when i was 17. i just started training again and we did a killer leg work out for 45 minutes and a 2k at the end and i pulled 6:48. I've only been back in for 6 weeks after a 6 month break. hoping to pull 6:20 at ergomania februraru 5th

  • @ChadAndrewsLovesGod Nice i was 165 and pulled a 6:28 when i was 17. I'm 185 now and I'm holding my 3 by 3k's at 1:41 average. I'm not going to do a 2k till Feb 5 at main line slide. Hoping to sub 6:20, but it's gonna be tough since I'm only 6'1"

  • @bjbjbzz That'd be sweet! let me know how you do. Ya i know what you mean, i'm only 5'9" so I''ve always been short for a rower lol

  • @ChadAndrewsLovesGod Yeah it kills me to see some kids on my team go half assed when they're like 6'5". I can only imagine what we could do with that kinda height haha

  • @bjbjbzz ya sometimes i wish i were that tall, but its that much nicer when you win and your short :P

  • What is the time? Cant quite see it clearly

  • interesting background music

  • yesterday I held 1:13.2 for 250m but there is no way i would have been able to hold it for another 250m. This guy is an animal

  • no you weren't

  • Amazing! Love the music as well. Its very 'epic' feeling. I would also recommend showing the erg set to go at the start, and then show the finish. Hand it to you, truely amazing form throughout the ENTIRE effort. Thanks for the inspiration.

  • The erg was almost screaming in pain

  • STRONG rowing but I will beat this time soon

  • Outstanding performance !

  • What's the name of the backround music on the start of the clip ??

And very nice dude :) me at 15 years can barrely get 1:30-1.28

  • Comment removed
