Great vid, awesome you caught it on tape. stuff like that happens more often than people think. my first solo I was told to perform a teardrop right after take off as the controller allowed another plane to enter the circuit in the reverse direction.lol I had no clue what to do. just last summer i was cleared for take off as 2 F-18's were on final. great job and landing btw.

wow this is crazy man...i thought YOU were just nuts until i read the explanation...my only experience close to this was one time i was short final for 27 and had to go around b/c of westjet...in my 3 short years of experience, i can honestly say i have never seen anythinglike this

..........Thanks for the comment rampmonkeyyyj. Well as you fly more and more, you will be more comfortable with a few unusual exercises. I wouldn't repeat this particular arrival regularly nor recommend it, especially to new pilots, But it was OK for that day, and the controller was nice enough and apologised for the situation. Fly safe!!

So he re-cleared you to land on 13 while you were on short final?

Hi bcradio,
Sorry for the delay in responding. Yes he did indeed re-clear me for runway 13. But he was a nice sort and apologised for the situation, and I was comfortable doing it, although I wouldn't want to do it regularly or recommend it, especially to new pilots.
