We had the pleasure of bringing him down from the Dallas Ft Worth area and taking him and his friends deer hunting years back. We dearly miss him. He came down several times...
Buddy, if you ever want to go deer hunting again in west texas all you have to do is get in touch and we'll come pick you up. No need to bring your ax unless you want to. There's plenty of room, too.
Truly one our best pedal steel guitarists ever to hit the music scene. He and Leon Rhodes were the best pair of pickers ever.....Great sound...Hope you are doing well Buddy.....
THe way to fix talkers is totally stop playing or singing stare at them when they look ask them if they want the Microphone or say I'll play after your finished talking,I done this to some Rude Ass it shut him up and Nary a word was said because it showed him for what he was:)
If I recall, the camera location was at a picnic table, folks were more interested in eating and chatter. Folks who wanted to hear Buddy, had no problem tuning in. this was not a show, just a small get together.
A magnificent steel player, a gifted teacher and a warm and generous person. If it weren't for Buddy and Kay Lee, I would have never known the joy of playing steel guitar. He's my hero!
Its too bad that all of those ignorant people in the audince wouldnt shut the hell up and listen to a pioneer!
