This might sound "strange", but I (and other rockabilly kids) know of Mr. Contino from the '50's rock n' roll flick "Daddy-O." Are any of the songs he sang in that movie ("Rock Candy Baby", "Wait'll I Get You Home") available for purchase? I looked on Mr. Contino's website, but no luck there.
Great seeing Dick and Pete at my friends San Genarro feast this past Sept. I always enjoyed listening to this particular song at the Orleans casino. Hope you will be out at the feast in Sept. when I come in to see Mrs. Palmisano and Joe Vento. Ciao!
They were just here in Yakima again April 19, 2009...It was a great concert... I plan to upload some new video soon...Keep an eye out for it...I hope he will be back in 2010!!!
We saw Dick at the East Side Cannery in Las Vegas for 2008 New Years Eve. He was one of the featured entertainers along with Jerry Vale. He can really make an accordian sing. He played our favorite Lady of Spain and Rich little and Vince Ferragamo were in the audience. It was a sellout, the place was packed!
Hi..I know what you mean about Dick Contino. He has been a close family friend for over 40 years. The video you are watching was taken in Yakima at a Wedding Aniversary show... Check out the ones I have of him too! Have a great 2008 Summer... David
@MFlorenFan Going to see Dick Contino, Corky Bennett, Pete Contino, Joe Cario, and many others at the Great American Squeze Off in Reno, NV April 4-5, 2011... Should be a great time!!!
I met Dick in Milwaukee, when My son, Dominic was about 5 years old. And he was so kind and genuinely gracious-A true Italian-American gentleman, and man, can he play and make some great sounds with tha Fisarmonica!
He made a pretty Hokey Movie in 1958, sort of Funny now--It's called, "Daddy-O" he's a good actor!!
It was an awesome show...Dick, his son Pete on the drums, & long time music director & sidekick Corky Bennett on the keyboard... West Valley Jr. High in Yakima...Tom & Bea Deiro's 26 Anniversay gift!!! We love Contino!
The guy with the keyboard needs to buy a better keyboard and get rid of that $100 toy.

Dick Contino, who is 78, has been a family friend for 38 years. It was splendid to be able to film him after all these years on this date 4/19/2008.
