  • The current revival felt so lacking during the 3 numbers in DC when they were seperate, sans-montage, but when it transferred to New York and the montage was reinstated, the crowd went wild. What an experience! Thanks so much for posting the original!

  • The night I took my parents to see "Follies," describing to them this wonderful old trouper who had been an original Follies girl, Ethel Shuttay made her entrance completely tanked; she got as far as staggering through her opening line, "Mr. Stone you sure know how to make a woman feel real good." My mom whispered, "She's drunk!" John McMartin's eyes pratically popped out of his head. She was promptly but gently escorted stage left and was never seen again for the rest of the show.
