If I ever need anything in a survival situation, I'll turn to my neighbor. He has at least 5 shotguns with plenty of ammo, at least 3 large racks of firewood at any given time, 4 or more large bottles of propane, 3 propane grills, 1 charcoal grill, military MRE's, large 50 gallon containers for water, a shed with electricity and water hooked up, a log splitter, a chainsaw with plenty of gas, and a whole closet full of food.
One survival food I always carry is potatoes you can wrap them in tin foil and bury them in hot coals and it bakes the potato.... well sort of lol.

You can also lay the thermos on it's side for more even and efficient cooking.
